Now that I've landed myself on bed rest, I thought it would be nice to do a check in for those of us trapped at home or in the hospital!
Here's my story...
Called my nurse this morning after having consistent, minor BHs for a day and a half. I fully expected her to have me come into the office and find out everything was fine. They ended up sending me to L&D because my OB was there. After getting all hooked up they determined my uterus was irritable, probably due to dehydration but the main concern was my sky rocketing BP...which was fine at my Monday appt. At one point, it was 167/111. So they hooked me up to some IV meds and gave me some terbutaline (?) for contractions. Thankfully, my bp came down right away, but I was admitted for 24 hours while they monitor urine for pre eclampsia. So far, everything has come back clear, leading my OB to believe its gestational hypertension. Unfortunately, that still leaves me on bed rest with increased check ins with the OB until LO arrives or they induce. Right now, they are controlling my bp with meds, so that's good. If I don't get protein in my urine, I should be able to keep him cooking a while longer!
So much for my July 4th plans!
Those of you who've been on bed rest longer...tell us your story, how long you've been on bed rest and how you're keeping your sanity!

Re: Bed Rest Check In
I have been on bp meds for 7 weeks, and they kept things in check. In the last week, though, my bp started climbing. At my Wednesday appointment, bp was very high and I had a small amount of protein. I did the 24 hr catch at the hospital, and it is bordererline for mild pre eclampsia. I got steroid shots for baby's lungs. Today I go home. My bp is so much better at the hospital (with rest). If I want to keep cooking baby, I need to take it easy. Not so simple bc I stay at some with my 3 kids, but we are looking for child care. My dad comes to help out in a couple of weeks.
I'm already bored!
Sarah, I'm mobile...how many weeks are you? 35? I am 32 weeks, 2 days.
My blood pressure is too low for daily Procardia so it's kind of a watch and wait deal. I've had five trips to L&D so far and doc says anymore cervical loss and it's hospital bedrest for me
Keeping "busy" with Netflix and homework (my thesis is due in four weeks!). Also some crafting- check out the mobile I made! Good luck ladies- it's a boring road but anything for a fully cooked kid!

I've watched a lot of tv and read a lot. I have fun looking up recipes, making grocery lists and sending H to the store. Then I use some of my precious allotted vertical time to cook/bake, which makes H happy. The house is... messier than I would normally keep it, but thankfully my mom was down for about a week and deep cleaned the kitchen while entertaining DD.
