Last week of bare bones check-in's, promise! Finally got internet today and we are all moved in (just a lot of unpacking left) -- yay!

Regulars, hope you are doing well. Let us know what's new with you, what you were up to this past weekend, and any upcoming appointments.

Newbies, let me know what pregnancy #, baby #, and the reason you are considered high risk and I'll get you added to the master list next week.

Thanks!!!

  • Almost 15 weeks here!
Belly is making its appearance, so I am rocking it!!
No appts. this week, but I have 1 next week and I think I will be starting my progesterone injections. 2k, but totally worth it if it helps keep mini in for as long as he/she is supposed to be!!
    That's it here!

  • Phew! Finally done with errands for the day and my feet are up. Appt on Thursday with my new OB; should be starting progesterone shots then, too. Hoping that new OB is as conservative as the old one. Also hoping for an ultrasound/cervical check to make sure that the BH's I've been having aren't productive. Normally I wouldn't even worry about them, but they were pretty painful and felt like early labor (just higher on the belly) pains. Anywho, "weekend" was full of driving from Tampa to Kentucky, moving in, and taking care of all the 1000s of tiny things that crop up along the way. So looking forward to this long weekend!

  • Newbie here, due 12/31/2014 (end of the year baby). This is baby number 2, DS was born at 33wk 5d for reasons unknown. My water broke and he was born later that day. So far so good with appointments, I met with my maternal fetal medicine doctor who seems like a good guy.

  • Just had an appointment today! HR was 145 bpm and blood pressure is still good (whew!). Mine tends to creep up in pregnancy. I want to avoid an induction if possible this time around, but I may not get that choice. Nothing too exciting, other than baby being healthy and right on track!! I got to schedule my anatomy scan for July 31. So excited! I'm really thinking boy.

I am AMA and have been spotting /bleeding off and on my entire pregnancy. On modified bed rest, reading, watching tv, wishing I knew how to knit. Hope everyone has a happy 4th of July. Had a girlfriend come by today and cheer me up. Glad to have great ladies here. <3
  • FTM and Newbie here due 12/29. High risk for two reasons: Factor v Leiden with previous blood clot and my DH has a genetic heart condition that is dominant so 50% chance of it being passed on to LO. Right now just U/S every four weeks to check on everything and then blood thinners after birth (thank god cause injecting myself in the stomach during does not sound appealing)! LO has been fine and HR has been around 165 everytime! Looking forward to getting to know ppl as this is my first time on a forum as well!
  • Thanks @summersunshine916‌ was worried at first with all the appointments and scary things they throw at you but it caused me a lot of anxiety so my new motto is Don't Worry about a thing, cause every little thing is gonna be alright!
  • New here, with pregnancy/baby #2 I'm due Dec 31st. I went into labor with my daughter at 33 weeks to the day. My next appointment is on the 16th and I'm a little nervous cause I'll be starting progesterone, but hopefully it'll help.
  • @bluebird00‌ we are going to try to avoid one if we can. It's very rare for his condition to show up in utero (regular onset is puberty) but they don't want to chance anything so they will do an extra long look at the heart at the a/s August 5 and my DH is getting a genetic test so we can take the cord blood and test. It will save yearly echos from preschool on! Only concern is the only "fix" right now is an implantable defibulator, which my husband has had since age 16, but I don't want the baby to have to get one. I guess we will cross that bridge when we get there!
  • Update: had my 16wk visit and new OB doesn't think we will be doing progesterone shots since, despite 5 weeks of bedrest, I didn't deliver DS till 38wks. I guess it's good news; he's going to start doing cervical checks at 28wks and we have our 20 wk appt and A/S on July 31. Contractions didn't concern him; I just got a lecture about drinking water!

  • Hey ladies! I keep forgetting to check-in. Everything is going well. My endo has been very pleased with my blood sugar control so far. She says I am basically keeping things at the same level a non-diabetic would. She even said that she's never seen numbers so good in a diabetic let alone a pregnant diabetic. Makes this momma's heart glad. Of course the next week my numbers went a little wonky (wonky for me would probably be pretty good for others. Im just used to really tight control) but I think I'm under control again.

  • Whoa!Completely been missing check in. I had  high risk appt. a week and half ago. I was a little past 12 weeks. Baby was moving so much that they had to switch to vagicam just to get a heartbeat. 13 weeks still couldn't find HB on Doppler and u/s showed it just a jumping with HB@ 170. They asked if i wanted my NT scan and i said no. We had a false positive with dd#2 and wasnt even about to add that extra pressure. I said i just wanted health abnormalities looked for @ the 20 week scan. My blood pressure jumped up to 160/102. Ugh I felt so terrible and was put on labetalol 2x a day and a 81 mg aspirin. My 24 hr. Urine test came back and am spilling over 1200+ protein already. So now there's the referral to the kidney doctor :(.  My sugars are getting better fastings are in the 110s and 130s. Insulin is being increased every week, and am up to 5 shots a day. Blood work came back with 24hr urine and my thyroids was low, so I had that retested again. They suddenly decided against p17 weekly shot. I kind of think they will be inducing before I would need it to work. They started with a birthing plan. Scheduled c-section at 38 weeks with a spinal block. Such a high risk for preE I doubt I'll make it that long, but we shall see. I held out to 34 weeks with dd#1 before being induced. Oh, and high risk scheduled a/s July 23! Seeing regular on July 14 and waiting to see when I see kidney doctor.

  • Welcome, @NandaB! While it's not under the best of circumstances, we welcome you with open arms. ((hugs))

@babycakes0408 -- Sending T&P that your BP and sugars come down so that baby can stay cooking for as long as possible. I don't know if you've looked into it, but the "Engine 2 Diet" has some great info on bringing down BP and sugars fast. It's a big of a struggle to adapt at first, but if it can help control your levels, it might be worth the hassle. I followed it for two years before getting PG (stopped in the first trimester because I was only able to keep down junk food/non-veggies), but am going to go back on because my BP is climbing week by week.

  • Finally saw a knowledgable high risk obgyn last Friday and started meds for the parasite i have. I will be done on Monday night. Doc is concerned if they don't work I will go into labour after 20 weeks. I have another follow up on the 25th. He said since my bowels and intestines are inflamed I will not know if I'm better straight away. I should have some indication by the 25th though. Booked anatomy ultrasound for august 8 and am so excited just to know baby is healthy

Lol nope ...but soooo worth it. It wasn't controlled with dd#2 and she weighed in@ 9lbs 13oz at 35 weeks.this is going to have to be the last one for me so one last hooray. Have they talked about inducing early yet to you or is it still wait and see?

they've talked about inducing around 39 weeks. But, frankly, they can talk til they're blue in the face. I won't agree unless there is compelling evidence that my placenta is no longer working properly or I'm having some other health problem that is affecting the baby in a clear way.

  • @Cheekers2010 Kudos to you! I feel the exact same way! With DD#2 they was scheduling me an amino @36 weeks to see if her lungs was developed enough to deliver. I refused! Baby made her mind up for them though instead, but kudos to you for already setting them straight.

  • @babycakes0408‌ - well, I certainly am not going to take any chances with baby. But I absolutely will demand that there be solid evidence behind whatever interventions the medical team are pushing. I'm happy to do every NST, etc. under the sun. Lessons I have learned the hard way in the past.

  • Jkentw- you should try cross stitching! You can get cute birth announcement kits. I'm still working on one from ds ( born 2012) hopefully I finish before I know the sex so I can start a new one. It's super easy- time consuming and looks so cute

  • This is my second pregnancy first baby. I'm HR due to a heart surgery 7 years ago.
  • Hey ladies! I too have been missing the weekly check ins. I'm 17w3d, and found out we are team blue 2 wks ago at my last MFM appt. They did uterine dopplers with that sono and did notice bilateral notching already... So Dr thinks I will get pre e again. Already been swelling and getting headaches, but my labs have all been good. I have been working 55-60 hours a week lately, and am attributing my symptoms to work. Hoping I can get back to my regular 40 hr week soon. On the plus side I have been feeling flutters lately, and am loving that!
