Re: HIgh Risk Check in July 3rd!
Remind us all why you are high risk? My pregnancy brain has been making it hard for me to keep up with everyone! I am high risk for preterm labor and now gestational diabetes. Although, my cervix has been a rockstar up to this point and hasn't changed at all despite all my contractions. So I officially had my last cervix scan on Monday! Now, I will be monitored for gestational diabetes the remainder of this pregnancy.
Rants/Raves? I am tired of poking myself in the finger, but I am not going to complain about getting to see her on an ultrasound in the next few weeks. So far GD hasn't been as awful as I was expecting. I actually find I can eat pretty much anything just depending on the time of day and if I balance it with a protein. I am also super sick of contractions-they have been better this week for the most part. I find taking magnesium, resting, warm showers in the evening, and then rubbing some lavender oil on my belly every night has really helped calm them in the evening which I am thankful for. (I realize I sound a bit crunchy this time, but hey, whatever works ha ha-also, everything was approved by the Dr.
Upcoming appointments? 7/10 for a GD appointment to look at my first two weeks of numbers.
GTKY: What are you up to for the holiday weekend? We are laying low, between DS not loving loud noises, the heat, and a possible tropical storm...we are staying in! We may go later in the month to Busch Gardens to watch the fireworks after the craze of them slows down around here
Remind us all why you are high risk? I'm at risk for preterm birth bcs of my last kiddo. But so far everything looks good, and I've graduated from the MFM and cervical scans. Woot!
Rants/Raves? Rants first: not really a lot to report, thank goodness. Slightly less contractions (I've been taking magnesium when I start getting a lot of them and it seems to calm them down - @suitern, tell me more about the lavender oil thing!!). Still having a lot of Braxton Hicks, but those don't bother me as long as they don't turn into contractions. Raves: I'm stupidly excited that my belly button is starting to pop, because last pregnancy I had PTL before it got a chance to. And I'm just super excited that this little guy seems to be staying in nicely. I want him to keep cooking til he's done!
Upcoming appointments? OB next Wednesday. Just a routine appointment, and my last monthly appointment before biweekly appointments start. Getting closer!
GTKY: What are you up to for the holiday weekend? No plans really. I'm thinking lots of pool time, if the weather cooperates. We have this life vest thing for DD and we plan to start teaching her to swim a little bit (right now we just splash around in the baby pool, but she really wants to learn to swim).
DD1, born 4/10/11 at 32 weeks
Cooking #2
Remind us all why you are high risk? currently dealing with round 2 cervical cancer, plethora of complications due to previous surgeries and treatments from cancer round 1
Rants/Raves? it's hard to put shoes on/flips flops are awesome
Upcoming appointments? I'm weekly starting next appt
GTKY: What are you up to for the holiday weekend? staying out of the heat
How far along are you? 30+5
Remind us all why you are high risk? PTL over the weekend with no indication what caused it. I'm a shorty (5'1" on a good day) so dr thinks maybe because that and baby being so big. But that's all he's got (no infection, cervix is soft but closed, etc)
Rants/Raves? Rant: bedrest sucks- I'm an active person and usually the caretaker of everybody/thing.
Raves- this is a long weekend for DH so ill have lots of company next few days.
Upcoming appointments? Had one today where BR was extended. Still crampy and part of my plug came out. Next is the 10th.
GTKY: What are you up to for the holiday weekend?
Nothing
How far along are you? 29 weeks
Remind us all why your high risk? I have marginal placenta previa. I've had bright red blood several time in the past couple of weeks and could possibly go into preterm labor. I've now been put on bi-weekly appts, which wasn't suppose to happen for 4 weeks, at my 17 week ultrasound my cervix was measuring 2.5. My cervix is soft but still closed. At yesterday's appt my belly was measuring small, it's not adding up with the weight gain so my dr is a little concerned about that. I'm suppose to rest and take it easy so I don't have another bleed. I had my glucose test yesterday and waiting on the results, but did find out I'm anemic.
Rants/raves? I feel like baby boy is trying to push out of my cervix. It's a very uncomfortable feeling. I make DH put my shoes on if I'm not wearing sandals or flip flops because I can't reach my feet anymore.
Upcoming appointments? I have an ultrasound on Monday to check placenta and baby. And I have a cervical check on Monday, but my next appointment is in 2weeks.
GTKY: what are you to for this holiday weekend? Doing some fireworks tonight with the family. Maybe BBQ tomorrow.
30 and change
I haven't checked in over here before, I guess I'm techincally high risk, but the MFM is far away so he passed off all the screenings and tests to my ob. I have a VCI (velementous cord insertion) and she's been measuring small the whole time, last growth scan was 15th percentile. So I'm in for weekly appointments from here on out doing weekly biophysical profile u/s and growth scans every 2-3 weeks
Rants/Raves?
none really major right now, I just wish I lived closer to family so I could be doing something for the 4th. Hubby works all weekend
Upcoming appointments?
next is on the 9th, BPP test and general check-up
GTKY: What are you up to for the holiday weekend?
Remind us all why you are high risk? I have complete placenta previa, and started to bleed about a week ago, also experiencing contractions which is normal but not good with my condition.
Rants/Raves? Trying to stay positive and mental busy on bed rest! Geez my hips ache thank goodness for a billion pillows!
Upcoming appointments? every week w/ bi-weekly ultrasounds
GTKY: What are you up to for the holiday weekend? staying as cool as possible:)
