Breast feeding, mini pill and period

I have been exclusively breast feeding my daughter who is 9 weeks. At my 6 week check my doc put me on the mini pill Errin. I had not started my period yet and wanted to be safe with my husband so I started it this past Sunday and now last night my period started. Is this normal? Did I do something wrong by starting my pill pack? I didn't want to get pregnant again so soon and didn't know for sure if my period would come while breast feeding. Thank you!.

    There seems to be quite a range of when PP periods return. Everyone is different. I started the mini pill at 6weeks and still (6months) have not had a period.

    I had some bleeding at 6 weeks, when I started the mini pill. Then no period till 10 months.
    My TTC History:
    2009: missed miscarriage #1 at 9 weeks (trisomy 16)
    2010: Infertility
    2011: Diagnosis and treatment (low sperm count, anastrozole for DH, clomid for me + IUI)
    2012: Baby #1
    2014: Baby #2
    October 2015: missed miscarriage #2 at 11 weeks (trisomy 22)
    March 2016 BFP#5, due November 2016.
