Baby Girl Swim Suit

I'm taking dd swimming for the first time for a few days next week. I'm planning to buy the iplay reusable swim diaper. Do I have to have a swim diaper also?

And would it be weird if she doesn't have a swimsuit top since she's a girl?

Re: Baby Girl Swim Suit

  • It is just my personal preference. I would prefer she wear a top, but I don't think it really matters. As a lifeguard I've seen people go either way.

  • OMGosh she is a baby! What is everyone's fascination with female nipples? Trust me, I would MUCH MUCH rather see female nipples than man nipples.

IMO, it is ok for her to go topless.

For me it has nothing to do with baby nipples. I just don't like the way it looks ;)

  • I have seen so many adorable baby girl swim suits, that if I had a girl, she would have 10 so we would always wear a top/suit over the swim diapers, but I don't think it is a big deal if your baby girl doesn't have a top on.

  • Thanks for the responses. Have to see if I can find an iplay at target. I haven't seen any cute swimsuits in her size. She's in 3-6 months. My aunt invited us to a casino resort since she's taking her 3 grand kids next week. They basically just swim and then the 4 adults take turns gambling if they want.

No need for a top but does make sunscreening easier

  • Love the elbow length rash guards, just for the sun protection reasons everyone else has covered!
  • We put a top on DS just for the extra protection from the sun. I think it depends on you and where you are going to be swimming.
