Happy 4th and...OTC yeast med

Happy 4th of July!! Hope you ladies are having a great day. I never thought I would combine a happy 4th and yeast infection post, but here goes.

Quick question - any recommendations for OTC yeast treatments? I have a yeast infection from the combo of antibiotics and the HSG, sonogram, frequent sex, etc. etc. the past week and a half. I would normally call my MD for Diflucan but of course it's the weekend. Haven't ever tried any OTC ones and wondered if anyone had better luck with 1 day suppositories, 3 day, etc?

Happy 4th of July!

My husband who is a MD told me the last time I had a yeast infection that monistat works just as good as diflucan. Of course he's never had a yeast infection and doesn't understand diflucan is so much easier to use and less messy but in your case I'd just go buy a monistat 1 or 3 day treatment.

I'll second Monistat! My OB isn't a believer in the 1 day treatment...she always says 5 days.

Just a warning. The monastat one day made me have a terrible allergic reaction, the 3 or 5 days cause no problems for me. I ended up in the ER after using the one day and the nice very old man doctor said to me, "your vagina is very angry". Funny now, not so much with your lady parts are on fire!!

I vote the 3 day treatment. Unless you've tried the 1 day before, sometimes it's too strong and causes irritation.
