Bday shopping

I'm already struggling to decide on gifts for my elfster baby....then I started thinking about DH's bday. I've been in party planning mode and realized I should think about a gift. So I thought I'd ask who is getting a special gift for their LO's first bday. Is the party the gift? Are you thinking they'll get plenty of stuff from friends and family? Or do you have a gift you can't wait to give them for their First Bday???? (I'm still in denial my baby is turning one so soon)

We bought her two large walking ride on toys. We will give them to her before her birthday since we wont be home for the actual day

So far I've gotten her a klip klop princess playset thing. I might get something like @mlc101811 is getting. I will prob let her open it on her actual birthday.

Dude's getting a cozy coupe. My mom picked one up on clearance at Target last week, and I need to pay her back still. I'm excited, but waiting patiently for his birthday.

We bought her a zany zoo cube thing from target. I'm sure she'll get lots of stuff from party guests too. Mil will most likely be getting her the riding toy I picked out. She likes for me to just tell her what to buy. We may get her something else but I'm not sure.

We got her a xylophone (Fisher price) and a 3D puzzle. I'm considering getting her a water table as well, but it'll just depend in the price. She is getting ready to have a HUGE party, so I don't think we really *need* to get her a large gift.

We got DD2 same as her sister--a handmade pottery tea set (not for play). Something to grow into and have for special occasions, etc. Obviously she won't appreciate it now so otherwise some clothes and toys, but nothing else big.

Most likely buying lo a wagon for his birthday. My parents are going to get him a riding toy.

We got a 4-in-1 Trike which we will open before the party and let him ride in to the party with a big bow on it (party is at a park). We got a couple little things to open on his actual bday. I guess we are a little excited haha

We are probably going to get her some sort of playhouse for the backyard (a bit of an "older toy" I know).

We're in the process of selling our house and hope to do so by Aug. 1. So we're going to (hopefully by his birthday!) buy him a good house to grow up in.... Something with a backyard with a tree house and space where he can run around with the dogs, a front porch for prom pictures, and a sturdy garage door to crash into when he's learning to drive.

We aren't buying anything. We already have a ridiculous amount of toys thanks to his big brother. I almost wanted to tell people not to bring gifts to his party, but I know they will anyway. We may buy a red wagon type thing that can fit both boys that we can use in lieu of a stroller.. maybe we will call that his gift. :-)

I am having trouble deciding as he has lots of toys and books now, but I am not sure when he will grow out of them and what a 1+ year old plays with.

My boys are both august birthdays. So they are getting a Kidkraft "everyday heroes play set". More for DS1, but DS2 wants to play with anything his brother has, so I figure he will enjoy it too, someday!

We have waaaaay too many toys. Ds2 has plenty to choose from. I remember for DS1 we got him a cozy coupe, a wagon and a doodle board. All fun gifts a one year old would like.
