Can I get some nursery design help?

DH and I have been working hard on the nursery today. We have painted the walls a light gray, with a bright yellow border around the top of the wall up to the ceiling. We are using turquoise as accent colors in our curtains, lamp, a glider blanket, Etc. Our nursery theme is "you are my sunshine".

I have three word art pictures that are the "you are my sunshine" lyrics, which will go over the top of the dresser. However, I am at a loss on what to do over the crib. It looks so bare, but I feel like much more framed artwork in such a small room would be too much.

I am kind of leaning towards a white floating shelf with little paper clouds, suns, etc hanging down kind of like a mobile, but the would be more against the wall, not dangling above the crib within baby's reach.

First, is this just going to get ruined with body waste, vomit, or other gross things that I know we have in our future? I don't want something that isn't practical...

Second, anyone have some suggestions? Our crib back is super curvy so I am having a hard with with design! Bonus love tits for a PIP or link! Here is our crib and a way over the top image of what I was thinking of, ours would be significantly smaller scale:

    You could do a banner like this above the crib (very well out of baby's reach), but replace the pink with teal:

    You can do wood letter initials or name and paint them any color.

    We are doing initials above the crib, and framed art above the dresser. I'm not sure what kind of monitor you are getting, but you could always do alternating shelves with decorative frames, stuffed animals, etc., with the video monitor pointed at the crib. Something like this:

    Tissue poms or paper lanterns?  I put them in the corner of DD's nursery but you could hang them anywhere.

    I like name letters. DD who is 18 months loves seeing her name above the crib and always points at the letters and asks us to spell her name.

    You could do sun and cloud wall decals, a picture frame collage with grey, yellow and turquoise that you can put pics of LO in over time or vinyl wall decals of some of the lyrics in a wave pattern across the wall.

    Thanks for this idea!!! We went with it and hung the shelves tonight. I loved that we could more easily see into the crib with the monitor on one of the shelves.

    Now I just need some cute knick knacks to put on the shelves!
