I think fireworks should only be on the fourth and even then, should be over by 10. My neighbors have been setting off fireworks for the last two days and my dog has been freaking out.

ETA- this might be more of an uo than a FFFC.
I agree. It is making me stabby. In addition, war vets with PTSD also have a hard time with the fireworks. People should be considerate.

Someone posted a picture of a vet that put a sign in their yard, asking that the neighbors be respectful with their fireworks because of PTSD. Kind of crazy that our celebration of our country can cause a lot of stress for those who have fought for it.
I agree about the fireworks. Better yet, make them illegal to set off at private residences and everyone can just enjoy the real ones put on by the city, etc. Bah humbug.
My confession - DH has had a "delicate" stomach for a couple of days and then twisted his foot yesterday and I haven't been very sympathetic. I think he's being a bit wimpy. Not very supportive of me, I know.

I thought about this a lot last night as the helicopters were flying over our house AS others were lighting off fireworks with my poor dad (a vietnam vet) slept in the basement. Thankfully (?) it was my crying child that woke him from his slumber instead of that!!!
My FFFC: I'm hiding in the basement under the disguise of "homework" when in actuality I'm tired of DH's family. My family is here too and if was just them I wouldn't feel so awkward but with DH's family I feel more like I have to play hostess (obviously not doing a good job if I'm hiding in the basement).
Usually I try to use LO's nap times to do something productive like catch up on work, laundry etc. Today during her afternoon nap I went to the liquor store to buy wine. No other errands, just the liquor store. DH probably would have gone for me but he doesn't drink wine and never knows what to buy. 2 glasses in now and not regretting it at all!
