Has anyone ever had a bladder infection?

Hi ladies. Off and on for about a month now I have been having problems when I urinate. I have been tested for a UTI and a yeast infection by my doctor via urine sample and a swab. Both tests came back showing no sign of anything. I contiune to have at least once a week very frequent urge to urinate ( I know thats common right now but I can notice a difference in this urgency if that makes sense) vaginal dryness, burning when I urinate ( and burning even when I am not), itching and sometimes its hard to begin going to the bathroom. I know I drink plenty of fluids. I felt like this was just something I was going to have to deal with until my son is born. After finding nothing in the tests by OB pretty much blew my complaints off. Last night at my chidbirth prep class the instructor talked about women going into early labor due to infections. The most common of those being a bladder infection and how they can be easily overlooked. With another wave of these symptoms hitting me today (the burning is worse than it has ever been!!) I am wondering if this might be my problem. My husband tells me to call my OB tomorrow but they have blown this off twice already so I see no reason in talking to them. Has anyone else had this problem or a known bladder infection?

It could be BV. I would suggest discussing all your symptoms with your dr.

That all definitely sounds like a UTI for me (but I'm not a dr...). I would keep pestering your doctor about it because you definitely don't want to risk early labor.

i had a uti and a bacterial infection that caused me to have premature false labor contractions. my advice to you would be to go into L&D and have them do a check for bacteria my doctor checks for uti's every appointment but they didn't check for bacteria growing, you could have bacteria growing in the kidney's or bladder.

When i went in for the second time they checked for bacteria and sure enough there was some growing, but could not determine exact location as i had taken an antibiotic for my uti they thought kidney because of where the pain was in my back.

Please do not shurg this off because your ob has go in and get checked, as it can cause early labour.

Likely
Bacterial vaginosis (bv) if yeast and UTI are neg. But you need to be rechecked by Dr, without a doubt.

I would actually suggest going to your primary care physician. Usually when they check for a UTI they do a urinalysis and the results come back white you are at the doctors. Your pcp might do a urine culture where they grow out the urine for a few days to see which bacteria (if any) is present and growing. This is more accurate for treating it and for picking up on a bladder or kidney infection. Plus, by going to your pcp, you are getting a second opinion from your OB.
