GTKY: 4th of of July is one of my favorite holidays! What is your favorite holiday and why? Like I said 4th of July is one of my favorites because it's my uncles birthday and we use to always go to the beach to celebrate. We would always have ice cream cake and go watch the fireworks over the water.

Rants/Raves/Chart Stalks: It's time to get cracking on the sex if I'm gonna give this month a real go.

GTKY: 4th of of July is one of my favorite holidays! What is your favorite holiday and why?
I live far away from most of my family and no longer in the US, so holidays have changed/lost meaning in my life. Christmas was probably my favorite, but now it's not spent with family so it's kinda sad. Halloween, St Pattys, Valentines, and Thanksgiving arent really celebrated here. So I think my favorite "holiday" is February 2nd. I love the movie Groundhog's Day, I love the concept of the US holiday even if it's not really important and I love that in France it's a holiday called Chandeleur and everyone must make crêpes and flip them while holding a coin for good luck. It's also delicious.

GTKY: 4th of of July is one of my favorite holidays! What is your favorite holiday and why? Christmas is definitely my favorite holiday because I love the family get-togethers, good food, decorating the house, but mostly the reason for the season.

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday and why? +1 for Christmas!! Everything is so beautiful and let's be honest - food. Halloween is a close second though because mini chocolate bars.

@kdE2010 That does seem a little odd, but the temps are all relatively close to each other (.1 degree different?) I would guess that in a few days you'll start to see a rockier pattern.

What are you doing to get pregnant? PNVs, BBT, charting, OPKs, & sexin! Thinking of picking up Preseed today as I foresee a need for it.

Rant/rave/chart stalk: may or may not have had way too much to drink last night. It was such an accident. I hate when that happens. Needless to say, I woke up in a fury when I realized that my alarm was going off because I actually had to work....so I didn't get to temp, which would have been high anyways. I've been super spotty with temping this cycle and I'm afraid my shift won't be noticeable because of it so hopefully my body and the OPKs cooperate to give me O info.

I really love Christmas. The food and anticipation is awesome, and fresh-cut trees are my favorite. However, when it's over, it's over, and I can't stand the thought of it until late fall hits again. I also love a good BBQ so all summer holidays have my vote!

Oh gosh this is a hard question. I love a lot of holidays! I can't pick one. I love 4th of July because, well, I am truly proud to be American and I love our country. I love Halloween because I love dressing up! I love Thanksgiving because...I love food. And Christmas gives me the warm fuzzies and I love getting together with family.

@Wine&Cupcakes don't worry about it. This is your first cycle! You will get the hang of it. And as long as you're having sex, you can still get pregnant

@nittanyllama I agree that I'm not sure you O'd yet. My chart looked kinda like that last cycle and FF eventually took those CH's away.
@kdE2010 yeah that does look a little weird but I think you will still be able detect O so try not to stress about it.

What are you doing to get pregnant?: PNV temping, debating about when to start OPKs. Maybe tomorrow? I only brought 5 and I hate to have a +OPK and not be able to do anything about it.

@adlestrop - my ILs have a solstice party every year complete with gathering around a fire, tobacco offerings, etc. it's quite interesting. They are big into "letting the light back into your life"

@tlc35 - have you thought about ordering wondfos in bulk? I got like 50 for $30 along with 25 pregnancy tests. Now I can pee on shit with abandon!

@sjpmcfmd‌ we have a friend who lives in Asia and has said the same thing- holidays change when you're away from family...but national "let's make crepes" day would be the beeessstttt

@wine&cupcakes ugh I had one of those nights last weekend- my sister got me to drink waaaay to much and I felt cruddy in the morning and didn't temp. It was a fun night anyway- sometimes okay to let loose I guess

CD - 15 (this was my O day last month, but who knows this time!)

What are you doing to get pregnant? BBT, CM, Pre-seed. I am around my O time from last month but last month I didn't really have super fertile cm during that time, so hopefully pre-seed can help assist...maybe wishful thinking as it's really only meant as a lube, but I'll take what I can get.

Rants/Raves/Chart Stalks: I was kind of pissed at H because I wanted to try ED sex starting CD 11, but gave him the night of the 12th off due to an already late night. Then on the 13th cd he got druuunk with an old friend (who, admittedly, did need a night to cut loose so I'm glad they did) and passed out before I could coax sex- grr! Luckily it looks like I didn't O yet, so we got last night in and hoping today too. Now to wait for O! I realize it could come on CD 20, but I'm hoping it's sooner.

GTKY: I love July 4th too, because the weather is always good, it's close to my birthday and usually a lot of friends and family are in town. But, I think Christmas might be my favorite because of the giving, the food and the lazy days.

eta: changed "crepes" from auto-corrected "creeps". But "National Let's Make Creeps" day made me giggle. Also, edited formatting.

Still temping, but see below.

Rants: I went for a preconception appointment this week. I specifically checked to make sure the office was comfortable with high risk pregnancies, which they said they did. I get there and the doctor took one look at my chart, and basically said hell no. They referred me to a huge hospital system in my area, and now I have to go through genetic testing before I can even start trying. It's frustrating how long I am pretty sure we will have to wait now.

GTKY: Christmas! I travel to Chicago every year, and I love Chicago at Christmas time.

I did by the bulk pack but when I packed to go out of town I just grabbed a handful without paying attention and now I wish I brought more than 5.

What are you doing to get pregnant?: BBT, started (at least) EOD sex last night, waiting on the OPKs i ordered to arrive on Monday so i can start those too

Rants/Raves/Chart Stalks: not much. H has finally taken some interest here (because EOD sex has started) and asked me this morning if i think i got KU last night. I was like "that's not really how it works, and no probably not." Only my second month off BCPs and my first month temping, so i have no actual idea when O will happen. hopefully the OPKs will help with that.

What are you doing to get pregnant?: I'll be checking CM and using OPKs. I've temped in the past but I'm such an erratic sleeper my charts were always out of whack and it drove me nutty!

@nittanyllama - I'm not convinced you've ovulated either. You had a really clear thermal shift last month, and this month your temps aren't as clear. So I think it's either going to drop or jump.

@kdE2010 - I wouldn't worry too much about the temps continuing to drop. They're all still low. I would imagine that they'll even out or stop dropping before you have your thermal shift.

What are you doing to get pregnant?: first month temping, charting cm

Rants/Raves/Chart Stalks: I think i messed up my chart. I work 12 hr night shifts 3x/week, so I've been going with temping after I get the most sleep. I was thinking I o'd on Monday when my temp dropped and then shot up the next two days. Today it was low again, and I didn't realize I forgot to put in yesterday's temp until I put in today's. Now that I think about it, I don't even remember taking it yesterday. We have SS for the summer (which I'm super excited about) but it's throwing my routine off. Add to it that DH has had about zero interest in sex this month (and with SS, 5yo, here plus my night shifts our availability is pretty limited as it is), I think this may just be an observe/learn/practice month

When I was a kid, definitely Christmas. As an adult, Christmas is just expensive and stressful with everyone wanting us everywhere plus I almost always have to work and never get the sleep I need to handle both our families all day. Now, I really love Halloween. I love making SS's costume and watching him get excited (even better this year because it will be the first that trick or treating falls on our weekend!!), I love seeing all the kids dress up, and if I work, I love dressing up and seeing the kids get excited

What are you doing to get pregnant?: Now waiting on CH. Temping, I guess continuing EOD sex until I see them but I am pretty sure I ovulated yesterday.

Rants/Raves/Chart Stalks: O snuck up on me quick this month, if I am right that my O day was yesterday, then we hit -2 and -1. If it were the day before, then -1 and O. I wanted to do it more, but this is the earliest I've ever O-ed since I have been charting. Oh well, still good timing. Will keep up the EOD sex in case I somehow didn't O yet.

I love Christmas for the time I get to spend with the family, and I usually take off between Christmas and NY so it's vacation time too.

I work retail, so holidays and I have a mixed relationship. It's honestly DD and the loss of my dad that have made them special again. I am going to try to incorporate as much of my dad into each holiday that I can, and I am striving to make each one special for DD. Today we had blueberry pancakes, are going to the beach, and then having a picnik at home. No at home fireworks for us! My padre was a firefighter so instead of sparklers we got stories about responding to calls for people blowing off fingers. Aww memories

@awesomenus1341‌ - I have the same exact issue. I work 3 nights and I feel as if I don't sleep as well during the day so I always seem to have elevated temps on those days. It's frustrating.

I was 8-9dpo this morning and I woke up to an early, 6days early, AF. Very sad. It is very deep brown red and heavy. Terrible cramps. I cried this morning seeing that it came so early. So now this month I am going to start temping and continue with my healthy eating, exercise and prenatal vitamins. Still bummed though

GTKY: What is your favorite holiday and why? I love Christmas. I love getting ready and listening to the music. I feel closer to all my family during Christmas time. We are Italian and German so lots of yelling and bickering, but Christmas makes it better lol.

GTKY: I don't think there's a holiday that I particularly go crazy for. In general, I like any holiday that allows me an extra day off work.

Rants/Raves/Chart Stalks: I think I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning. My temp only went up by .05 this morning. I know I'm going to have to wait a few days to determine if I actually ovulated but does your temp usually need to spike way up or does there just need to be an upwards trend to confirm O??

@pippacricket As i understand it doesn't *have* to be a sharp spike, but it has to end up being at least 3 days higher than the previous temps (cover line). At times mine has been a slow rise -- you can search for charts on FF with certain characteristics and one of the options is "slow rise" so I guess that's a thing. A few more days should give you a better idea!

I also love that it is not all wrapped up in the commercialism that Christmas has become :-/ Although, Black Friday is slowly creeping it's way more and more into Thanksgiving. We do NOT participate in all that noise

Rants/Raves/Chart Stalks: SOOOOO yesterday I mentioned in the WTO that my spotting had seemed to go into the 'light' territory so I changed it on FF. This morning I had NO blood at all so I thought OH! Yeah! Maybe that was just heavy spotting, but if it's over maybe I'm not totally out!!! Then, cue 3pm: definitely light flow begins again. WTF menstrual cycle? For serious? Fuck you.

GTKY: 4th of of July is one of my favorite holidays! Back home July 4th became one of my favorites because of the things my small town does. Now a days... probably Thanksgiving...
