Re: 7/4 PgAL check in

  • Thank you for having this on this board. I've been lurking for 2 weeks and so nervous bc of my MC in Feb. I was 13 weeks along. I started bleeding about 2 days after I got BFP. I had a SCH and finally miscarried on Feb. 17. I'm so scared that I'm going to start bleeding again that I find myself holding it in (having to pee) bc I just don't want to see it. Last night I started getting this weird spasming in my abdomen. I have no idea what that would be from. Everything gets me scared now. I already had 2 rounds of blood work to check my progesterone. It started dropping so I started pg a few days ago. I have my first US on the 9th. I'm 6 weeks, sweet pea.

Favorite holiday is definitley Christmas. Since my grandma passed away, I try to keep it just as special as she did for us. Miss her so much!

  • I love that quote!!

How far along are you/what fruit?
8w6d with two raspberries, but moving over to olives tomorrow!

    Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.?
We heard the amazing heartbeats of each baby on Wednesday and it was like sweet music!!

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally?
After the appointment this week, my PGAL brain is a bit better, but still snags me every now and then. I've better figured out how to manage my m/s, staying full more often and feeling better. Physically, I'm WIPED OUT.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why?
We are a home of Christmas lovers!! We go ALL OUT and our gifts are way too extravagant. With two babies due soon after Christmas this year, it is sure to be even more special. (Twin due date of Feb 9, but it is assumed I'll be going early January)

How far along are you/what fruit? 7w 1d - blueberry

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc. Had my first u/s yesterday morning. Saw that baby's heartbeat - 132. Measuring 1 day ahead, but obviously sticking with the original due date.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally? I waver. Saw on one of my pregnancy apps that around this time the heart is becoming more complex. Hope and pray everything goes well this time. We've hit July, which is when Amelia was due, so this will be a tough month. And at my u/s the doctor (not my regular OB) thought it would be a good idea to remind me of how nervous I should be and that I'm at an increased risk for heart defects since now I have a history. Oh really? I haven't been thinking about that on my own EVERY FUCKING DAY. So thanks.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? Christmas Eve. We always have a big get together with my mom's side of the family. I love the anticipation of Christmas. Can't wait to have a little one to share it with.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.? Our u/s last Friday was great, which was a huge relief! My next appt with my OB is 7/25, and I'm waiting to hear when my NT scan will be.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally? I'm so sick of being nauseous! I'm only super exhausted every other day or so. I'm still anxious but not as much as I have been.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? I think thanksgiving. I love that it's low stress, lots of food, and family!

  • How far along are you/what fruit?
    7 weeks ish, blueberry

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.? I had my first OB appointment this week as well as a second ultrasound. Everything went well. Baby's heart rate went up and is grew right on track from the last ultrasound.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally?
I'm doing pretty well. Half my battle was just making sure the baby made it to my uterus and it wasn't a second ectopic. Now that I know it's in the right place I'm way more relieved. My PgAL brain still gets the best of my occasionally but for the most part I'm staying positive.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? I love Christmas too. Just that whole time of year really. The music the movies the feel of Christmas. It makes me all warm and fuzzy.

Try clicking on the little head on the upper right hand part of the screen, and then click on signature settings on the left hand side on the next screen. That worked for me!

  • How far along are you/what fruit?
    8 weeks, 5 days: Raspberry!

     Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.?
I had my 8 week u/s on Monday and it went really well. Perfect growth from my 7 week, the heartbeat went from 152 to 178, everything looked great. Beautiful news all around.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally?
I am have a horrible past few days since I got about 24 hours removed from good news at the doctors. My morning sickness had died down, and I'm constantly second guessing if my boobs still hurt, if I'm still fatigued, if I'm peeing more, or if it's all in my head. I feel like I'm really starting to lose my mind and grasp on reality. I don't trust my body or my brain. It's getting very hard, especially since my next appointment isn't until July 28. I'm trying to tell myself that I've had great appointments, my hormones are probably just starting to level off, and there's no reason to jump to the worst case scenario, but I'm just scared. I hate this. I want to enjoy and celebrate this baby, but my brain and heart aren't on the same page.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why?
Usually Valentines Day. I love that it's just me and DH, I love pink and red and hearts. We usually eat a fancy meal at home off our china and bask in each other. Last year it was 5 days after I miscarried, and it was such a source of healing to be able to enjoy the day and cry together. And next year it should be 6 days after my due date, so hopefully we'll be celebrating with out newest little love.

  • How far along are you/what fruit? 6 weeks, so sweet pea

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.? So far all I have had done is betas, progesterone, and my nurse intake appointment. My first official doctor's appointment is mid July, I will be 7.5 weeks.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally? I am doing well. I have moments of panic, but for the most part I feel surprisingly well.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? Holidays are hard since my loss. My little boy was due at Christmas, but he arrived 3 months early. I guess my favorite holiday is probably New Years, which is also my anniversary.
  • @Junebugjam ugh I'm so sorry the doctor put that in your head more than it already was. Don't they understand that us PgAL mamas are already obsessed with everything that might go wrong? I hope you're able to relax and set it out of your mind a bit. And I'll be keeping your family and your Amelia in my thoughts. My due date is coming up next month (August 26) and I've been dreading it for months now- I can only imagine how you're feeling.  ((hugs))

  • Thanks so much for this thread! It's hard to be pregnant after experiencing a loss. My first pregnancy ended at 14 in miscarriage. It was the worst experience I've ever had!! I'm anxious/ excited to be pregnant again. But it is a constant battle in my mind about how to handle this. I want to be happy but I'm afraid to get attached.

Our baby is an Olive :) 9 weeks 2 days

At our doctors apt last week we had an ultrasound and we got to hear the heart beat! 171. I cried, it was a magical feeling.

    Favorite holiday is definetly Christmas!!!
  • Thank you for this!

Quote of the week: "Worry is a misuse of imagination."

How far along are you/what fruit? 8w per O date, 8w 4d per U/S Yesterday.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.? I had an appt yesterday! I got to ask my ridiculous questions, then I agreed to a pap smear which was the dumbest thing I could do.... then we had an U/S which showed baby growing and HB of 159. :) 2 appts until I see the specialist and hoping I get past that.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally? I'm feeling scared. I started spotting yesterday after the pap which is why I regret it. It sent my mind into a frenzy and has now almost stopped but I have some cramping. Mentally, pregnancy is just not for me.... its ridiculous how hard this is.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? My favorite is Christmas! I grew up in a very poor home and did not have much but when Christmas came around, my mom wouldn't be so stressed and she wouldn't have that sad look in her eyes. Christmas made my mom happy and even though we are a small family of 3, we would do so much stuff together. Christmas just brings out the beauty of everything.

  • Baby is a raspberry, 8w 6d.

Had a ultrasound on Tuesday. Everything looked good and saw the heartbeat again.

Physically tired and very sore boobs. Not fun to be nursing with. Mentally feeling better since the ultrasound was good. Emotionally is varying from day to day. LO was due today so just trying to hold DD a little closer today.

And my favorite holiday is Thanksgiving. All the food is amazing with no worry about gifts.

Hope all you ladies have a good week ahead!!
  • How far along are you/what fruit?
    7w3d - blueberry

    Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.?
I had my u/s Tuesday and all was well. They confirmed I was 7w and that the heart beat was 133! (Makes me feel much better after my last visit with the nurse practitioner who said it was 'slow')

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally?
I've had a lot of nausea and aversions, but otherwise ok. I go back and forth mentally from feeling happy and like everything is ok and then freaking out.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? Now that I have DS definitely Christmas and his birthday (which are 5 days apart). I love giving him gifts and celebrating him with family!

  • I'm 5w6d (Apple seed). I have my nurse intake on 7/15 and my first OB visit on 7/23. I am upset that I won't get an ultrasound until mid-July. I just need to see that everything is ok. This month is hard b/c I was due in July but I'm trying to stay positive. I just keep waiting for the spotting to come. Every time I go to the bathroom I anticipate it. Thankfully none thus far but it's so hard to feel happy as my only other pregnancy ended in a loss. I love Christmas as well! Lots of time with family, yummy food and relaxation!

  • How far along are you/what fruit?
    9 weeks and 5 days!

    Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.?
We had our first ultrasound yesterday and our sweet baby looks perfectly healthy, great heartbeat, right on track with size, etc. it was so fun to see the baby wiggling. Being seen at an Air Force hospital we hadn't expected to get an ultrasound until 20 weeks so it was a great surprise!

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally?
For quite a while i felt detached, worried and a little depressed. I think I had been afraid to get my hopes up after our previous miscarriage. Since seeing the baby I have been beside myself with excitement! I have some nausea, exhaustion, etc. all the normal symptoms but as much as it isn't fun to feel sick I keep reminding myself that it means there is a healthy baby in there causing me to feel this way.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? I love everything about Christmas. The baby I miscarried was due on Christmas Day so That makes if a little bitter sweet now but it will still always be my favorite.
  • Ps. angelg3134, they told me when I had my pap that even a fair bit of bright red blood was completely normal after a pap and does not mean the baby is on any distress. Hopefully that helps! It's so scary after having bleeding previously that signaled the loss of a baby to not worry about it. I also bled with my pap but it stopped much faster than it did when I miscarried.
  • How far along are you/what fruit? 9w/ olive this weekend
Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.? I was discharged from my RE on Monday and met with my new OB for the first time on Wednesday. Everything looks good. I'm measuring 2 days ahead of my official EDD/ 1 day ahead of my real EDD.
How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally? With two appointments this past week, I am doing okay, but I am wondering how the hell I'm going to make it until the end of July for my next appointment. With twins last time, I never went more than 2 weeks without an appointment and often they were more frequent (up to twice a week for a while). I may lose it waiting 4 weeks.
GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? I'm going to go with Memorial Day because it kicks off summer and all the beaches open.

  • Thank you so much for this check-in :)!

How far along are you/what fruit? 6 weeks and 2 days. Sweet Pea

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.? My 1st prenatal appointment in July 17 and I am not sure when I will have my 1st ultrasound, but probably around 12 weeks.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally? Physically I am really starting to feel run down and very tired and I am starting to have more pregnancy symptoms and I so happy about that. Mentally I am doing okay for the moment, because I know that the Lord is in control. Emotionally I am doing good right now.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? Favorite Holiday is the birth of my children because that is the day that they came into the world with my help.

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.?  I had an ultrasound Thursday, and unfortunately have another one scheduled for this coming Thursday, because believe it or not, I have another subchorionic hemorrhage :(  That thing plagued my last pregnancy and caused so much stress and worry (and blood loss!).  I'm praying this one stays small and goes away quickly.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally? Reasonably well given the SCH news.  I was hit in the face with morning sickness today which while unpleasant, makes me SUPER happy (correlation with good outcomes). :)

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.? We had our first u/s this past Wednesday. Everything looks great. Next appointment and u/s is scheduled for the 17th.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally? I have horrible nausea pretty much all day, every day. No energy. Just blah all around. I'm doing a lot better mentally and emotionally since my appointment, but there's still a small part of me that's holding back excitement.

  • Thank you for this!! I REALLY needed to hear that quote today! I had a MMC in January at 6 weeks, 2 days, the last few days I have really started to have the PgAL brain.. :/

How far along are you/what fruit? 8 weeks, 5 days, little raspberry :)

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.? We had our first ultrasound almost 2 weeks ago, and we go in for our next appt to hear the heartbeat in 2 (long) weeks.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally?  Doing good for the most part. Symptoms have seemed to subside the last few days which emotionally is making me question everything. Am I crazy that I want to call my Dr. tomorrow to see if he can get me in for an Ultrasound this week to ease my mind? I really don't think I can wait 2 more weeks for our next appt!

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? I am definitely on the Christmas team. I love everything about it, the decorating, the spirit.. it really is the most wonderful time of year! :)

  •  How far along are you/what fruit? - 9w1d, so an olive, I think?

Any appointments, ultrasounds, updates, etc.? - had an appt last wednesday, and doc did a quick handheld ultrasound - baby's growth looked right on track, and it's heartbeat was flickering away. We're going in again on Thursday to look at baby one more time, and then no appts till 12 weeks.

How are you doing--physically, mentally, emotionally? - physically: still exhausted, nauseous, dry-heaving like it's my job. My symptoms are starting to lessen a little, and I'm attributing it to the placenta taking over the hormone production and my corpus luteum cyst dissolving the way it's supposed to. Any other train of thought leads to PgAL brain. Mentally: trying to process possibly telling the rest of the world (other than our families) that we're pregnant in a few weeks, once we're past the first trimester. It scares the crap out of me. Emotionally: A lot better after doing the due date celebration for our second angel baby, Asher, this past week. It was very healing and it felt good to celebrate and get past that day.

GTKY: What's your favorite holiday and why? St. Patrick's Day! (I LOVE Ireland!) followed very closely by Christmas. =)
