I know I wasn't alone with having a LO who wouldn't sleep for more than 10 hrs a night. Well good news! DS just started sleeping for 12 hrs straight for the past 2 nights. Hope he keeps this up!!!!
Ooh how amazing! DD is one of the short sleepers. If she sleeps hard she is down 10 hours almost to the minute. The only time we get longer out of her is if something is weird... If she had a bad night, crap nap, growth spurt, etc.
Can I ask hour your LO napped the last few days? DD is a great napper and I'm torn as to whether more night sleep would be better than what we have now if it meant the loss of nap time. My dream its that she keeps get naps and starts to lengthen night sleep but I'm not crossing my fingers :-)
Oh my God @kittynap, I'm so sorry! DD was up this week because she was sick and I now remember how crappy that felt. I thought @brendamndz and I had some of the last sttn kids here.

@kittynap I feel for you. My DS still wakes up at least 2-3 times at night. I've read that STTN is considered a 5 hour stretch, which we typically get at least 5-6 in a row. But, yeah, all night of sleep (10-12 hours) would be nice. I have night weaned, but I do BF to sleep, and we aren't a CIO type of house. I don't know if that affects things much.
So sorry to the ladies that have LO's not STTN. I never kept with the CIO method. I couldn't do it... I do know DS started to STTN when I stopped BFing and co sleeping. As far as naps go they are never consistent. Sometimes one nap a day and sometimes two.
I didn't do any CIO but I did see much longer stretches once I weaned and I do have a five minute rule because DD does still wake numerous times a night almost every night but now the wake ups vary from a squeak to some babble while turning her music box on to some crying but she never cries for five minutes unless sick so far. If we room shared then we would call all of those wake ups so we are probably in a similar boat except she puts herself back down 99 percent of the time at this point. Sorry ladies, I'm happy with our 10 hour nights and I can't imagine how 12 hour stretches would feel! :-)
We still cosleep and BF at night, too. I honestly have no idea if DD STTN. I keep my boobs out and sleep through it if she nurses. I have to take Benadryl for my allergies, so it knocks me out for the most part. Except one night I was sleeping on my back and woke up to her belly flopping across me to get to my boob. Lol. I still haven't gotten my PP AF, so I suspect that she nurses a good bit at night.
