DD over the last few weeks has grown so much into her own little person. It's so sad. She now walks backwards like it's no ones business. Not like a few steps but walking, walking. She'll go until the coffee table, wall, entertainment center stops her. She doesn't even look backwards when she does it. Scary but she giggles. Lol
She helps me fill up her cup with ice. We have the freezer on bottom fridge and when she hears the freezer open, she'll run up and start getting ice and plopping it in her cup while I hold it. So cute.
My new favorite she started a week ago. As soon as I'm done changing her diaper, she'll get up, grab her diaper and run it over to the garbage can and toss it. She runs back to me and she's just laughs so hard. She knows she's helping momma out.
Your turn! Let's brag on our LO new accomplishments and celebrate!!
I feel like these past two weeks have been a burst of development -- waving bye bye, 100% sippy cup success, less milk / more food, saying hi, SO close to walking, and yesterday he climbed up a whole flight of stairs! He's been really fun and sweet and silly these past few days and just a joy to be with.
Claire is just a riot these days, and so affectionate. We just went on a week long vacation, and were crammed in a tiny cabin with a ton of people. She slept like a rockstar, and charmed the pants off of everyone.
She can follow some simple directions to get her shoes, get her cup, pick out a book, etc. She waves, shows us body parts, and "shakes her booty". She "talks" constantly, but her main words are hi, dada, shoes, Hank (little boy at daycare), and up. She loves to rock her baby.
She is taking up to 10 steps at a time, and will walk all over the place holding my hand. She loves to climb things, and roll around on the floor and "wrestle" with Daddy.
We are done with bottles, and she eats anything we put in front of her. Some new foods she tried last week on vacation are smoked trout, liver pate, fried sunfish, pickled beets, potato salad, and corn on the cob.
LO recently started giving us high fives, he loves waving and now he signals come here with his hand. When I tell him say cheese for a picture he poses and smiles. And he has started saying a few things in French cracker, kiss, and bath. No English words yet besides uh oh but i'm happy he is saying something I was starting to think he was never going to talk.
Oh, and I forgot that she high fives and "fist bumps"...aka "knucks". You hold out your fist to her and say "Give me knucks" and she bumps fists with you. Hilarious.

Ahhhhhh DH taught my niece how to do this when we were first dating and she was about J's age right now... it was so cute, totally made me want to make babies with him. Hahahha.

Thats awesome. Yup, my DH taught Claire that too:)
1) she walks over to the music table, pushes the button for a song and starts dancing
2) her faaaaaavorite book is Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See? About 30 times a day, she brings it to me, pulls my legs until I'm sitting down, crawls in my lap and waits for me to read it. It's so darn cute
E has really grown to love his books lately just like @chicagobroad26 mentioned. He will grab one book at a time, bring them over, and we will read 3-4 before it's all said and done. I love to see him really paying attention to the pictures and words. He points to the words and pictures and jabbers, like he's "reading" with me.
He always loses his pacifier at nighttime by throwing it, and most of the time it falls between the crib and the wall. So just about every morning, I have to pull his crib out, and I find 2-4 pacis every time. Well yesterday he was crabbin and we could not find a paci anywhere, so I said "where's your paci?" And he started jabbering, walked straight to his bedroom, and tried pushing the crib away from the wall. When I pulled it out, sure enough there were 3 pacifiers back there! He walked in, grabbed all 3, and then trotted back to the living room, like he was so satisfied with himself!
Overall, I'd say it's so amazing to see his little gears turning when I talk to him and ask him questions. If I ask him to bring something to me or go get something, he is starting to follow directions. Such a proud mama, like everyone here I'm sure!
I caught Miss C pretending tonight. She had a small jar and would lift it up like it was a drink, then then say "Ahhhh...." like it was refreshing, lol. She was also reaching into a box, and pretending to pull out food and eat it. This is the first time I have seen her using her imagination to play. She's growing up so fast!
She's also climbing onto stuff now, especially the ottoman and her activity table. I can't take my eyes off her for a second!
Ella puts her baby in her baby stroller and walks her around! She recognizes a lot of her toys when you ask where they are. Starting to wave but only when SHE wants to do it. Opening cabinet doors (not excited about this)
I finally started getting kisses (open mouth sloppy ones), I love it. During bedtime he takes turns hugging his two stuffed toys and insists I give them big hugs too. He's the most affectionate little guy. He's also making such progress with his words, nothing clear yet but so close. Cheese is "ssss", he makes a recognizable "Thank you" when you hand him something, this weekend he said " " 'asses" while pointing to my hubbys glasses . He's got some new crazy dance moves now too and loves to rock out whenever a song comes on that he likes. It's like he just stops dead whatever he's doing and starts bopping, now he's throwing in a shoulder shrug/arm swing too. He understands everything we tell him, goes to his highchair for supper, goes to the change table when I ask him and runs into his bedroom for bedtime. It's amazing how smart these kids have gotten.
This morning I was scrolling through Facebook, and DS was trying to play with Daddy's computer, so I opened my arms for a hug, and he came running. (This is not new, but it melts my heart every time!) So I picked him up, and hugged him. Then he started reaching for a box of crackers beside me. I asked him if he wanted one, and he said yes. So I gave him one. He took a bite, then broke off a little piece, and fed it to me. :x
And if that wasn't cute enough, I asked him if he was sharing with me, and he threw his head back to do 3 huge, slow nods. 8->
DS is finally waving at people while they are still able to see it! He used to wave at people after they were out of sight, but now he does it appropriately. He waved at my husband when he left for work this morning!
And he loves fiddling with the keyboard on the computer to make it "wake up." It thrills him every time.

It's so fun to read what everyone is learning! Stephen is a little chatter box. I've never known a 14 month old who talks as much as he does. He knows the meaning of and can say: mama, dada, ball, baby, dog (with barking), cheese, milk, spoon (poon), please (peese), shoes, turtle (tootle), snack (nam) and book. . He seriously just chatters all day long.
My other favorite thing he does is fist bumps. If you say "give knuckles" he puts his tiny fist up and goes from one person to the next giving bumps. Even strangers.
Oh and he knows the phrase "raise your hand." So we like to say: "Raise your hand if you're a chunky boy!/Raise your hand if you want to take a nap/bath! Raise your hand if you love your mommy!" lol He has no idea what we are really asking obviously but the throws his hand up! So adorable, i need to get it on camera.

So smart! I'm so surprised my son started pretending recently too! I honesty thought that wouldn't come until around 2. If he sees a picture of food, he will pretend to pick it up and eat it...and then share so I have to pretend too. He just smiles like he knows he is so funny.

James has started doing this with his toy rotary phone -- he had whole faux gibberish conversations. It's really funny. And no idea how he learned it since nobody on earth has a rotary phone anymore and he doesn't watch tv!
