First IUI Success Stories......

I'm having my first IUI next week. Took Clomid cycle days 5-9. DH has mild MFI, good count but poor motility and morphology. I really don't want to do IVF but it doesn't seem like IUI has a big success rate. Any success stories? Or am I wasting my time and money and should start looking into IVF? I'm 38 so time is not on my side.

With my 3rd child, I had success with my first IUI. It was my 3rd cycle of follistim though, the previous ones were with timed intercourse. I had done a round of clomid and a round of letrozole before that. I was 36 and had a DOR diagnosis.

Good luck with your iui! We were not successful the first time, but we were with the second. We did follistim with an ovidrel trigger. We had unexplained infertility.

Our 1st IUI didn't work but our 2nd IUI was successful. I really didn't have much hope that IUIs would work but we decided to try 3-4 cycles of that before moving onto IVF, since IUIs are so much cheaper. Good luck, it can happen!!

That's what I am doing, trying 2 or maybe 3 IUIs, FX one of them works. I just don't have a great feeling about it. Everybody keeps telling me to think positive, but after months of nothing but negatives it's hard to.

I am right there with you! Did my first IUI yesterday and am praying it will work. I had clomid and trigger shot, my DH has some issues too, but they got a good sample! I had one mature 19mm follicles, it was actually the first time I was able to have a mature big enough follicle...

I will wish you good luck! I know that many woman will say it didnt work, but you are not them! You story can be different! Juts be positive!!!!

@oliv0026Thank you, they didn't recommend I do the trigger shot, just Clomid and OPK. FX for both of us.

I noticed that everyone has different processes. I have seen women here who checked if the tubes were blocked after the 2nd or 3rd IUI and some trying only Clomid for a while. I ave seen woman who had the husband tested after over a year of trying all this process!!!

I have to say, although my doctor is cold and every time I see her she spends about 2 minutes in the office with us, like a hurricane passing by, we are happy with the plan she made for us. My husband got tested right away and I did a bunch of exams too, including homone levels and that one to see if the tubes were blocked, then we started with Clomid until I was able to have a mature follicle. Once that happened, I did the trigger shot and the IUI. I felt like she hit all things that could go wrong and took care of them before we did anything. Of course it doesnt mean that I am 100% guarantee it worked, and I will find out only on the 11th, which is driving me nuts, but I am very positive. Now I am taking the progesterone pills and just praying it has worked. I hate all the mood swing I have and cramping, it feels like I am on my period all this time, but I will keep myself positive and hopeful.
