I am trying to decide between a Sam's club membership and a Costco Membership. They are both in a convenient location Sam's costs 45 and Costco costs 55. If you have or had one or both memberships which do you think is better?
Costco! Sams is owned by Walmart whereas Costco is known for incredibly employee-friendly practices (living wage, reasonable schedule, affordable health insurance, etc).
I think it can vary from store to store but our Costco always stocks a large variety or organic food, and the organic vegi section is huge. Prices are much better than the regular store. I've never been to Sam's.
Ditto on the treating employes well thing, I've heard that too.

I think it depends on what you're looking for. Costco has really nice organic stuff and high en merchandise like furniture and such. I just got a sam club membership because we moved and Costco is too far. Sams has better prices on meat and just "regular" food. I got the membership to save on food so I think it's better for me. Sam's definitely does not have the cute kid clothes like Costco does. i would definitely go and check both out. Both will allow you to walk around and check it out. I would write down the prices of the stuff you're interested in and see what has better prices.
We have had both and I prefer Costco. We had SAMs when we lived in a place without a costco. It was okay but costco is better. I find more stuff I need at Costco and I feel like it is better quality as well.
My husband works for Costco and we are grateful for the lifestyle his employer has given us. I can list his benefits if you would like, but I will stick to Costco vs Sams.
Yes, Costco does have more organic choices. Lots actually. I also believe that Costco is a better value. For example, both sell sheet cakes. Sam's cakes are slightly cheaper ( like a dollar), however they don't a delicious filling like Costco does and they also aren't prepared onsite from scratch. They are shipped in frozen and iced in the store. Costco's cakes...all from scratch. Another example, both make enchiladas. Again, Sam's are slightly cheaper, but they also weigh less because they don't have the same amount of meat filling that Costco does. Let me see what else ? Well a few years ago we were looking at dollhouses at both stores. The one at Sam'swas $99 and plain on the side. No flooring, no wallpaper. However, the same dollhouse at Costco had flooring and wallpaper in all 6 rooms. AND AND all six rooms were furnished. That is an incredible deal considering one room of dollhouse furniture could easily costs $30 if not more. So for an extra $30 a dollhouse at Costco came with all 6 rooms decorated and furnished.
In additoin, Costco has a wonderful return policy and a great warranty for electronics. Plus, their all beef hot dog and soda combo for $1.50 is pretty good deal too.
Costco has better chocolate/chocolate chip muffins.
That's all I've got.
I got the costco membership and bought the chocolate chocolate chip muffins.... Your taste buds must be dead because they are kind of gross! It tastes like seaweed to me..
Neither. I
Think you can get things cheaper if you watch sales and use occasional coupons.
And I love my amazon prime membership at $79 a year which often runs deals and has a bonus of coming to your door so no shopping trip needed.
Costco vets every vendor thoroughly and has a reputation for great products, fair labor practices and in our area they sell a lot of local products and elevate our local economy. Hands down Costco!
At this point, if I was forced to choose, I personally would keep Sam's. We shop there way more often now just because Costco is so crowded that I have to circle the lot for 20 minutes to chase down a parking space, the lines are crazy, and the aisles get jammed with all of the people desperate to get samples.

We have both Costco and Prime. Win!
I have both and I prefer Costco. Sam's club is owned by Walmart so to me it's just a warehouse version of Walmart.
I love shopping at Costco. I feel the quality of the items and the variety at Costco is better.
