Thank im getting the worst summer cold. Trying to hold it out till Monday which is my doctors appointment. Was wondering if anyone know of some safe remedies while pregnant.
I went to a pharmacist with sinus pressure and congestion and was basically told to just use a neti pot. She said some docs are okay with drugs like sudafed, but she didn't recommend them.
I mostly tried to avoid caffeine, dairy, and triggers (my congestion was allergy related). It helped, but didn't kick it.
I eventually used a nasal spray a couple of times (I had to fly) and I got relief after a month of allergies/congestion and felt like a new person.
The pharmacist also had some homeopathic nasal drops that I may try (if the allergies return when I get back to the allergy triggers.)
Not sure if that helps, but that was my recent experience. GL!
I had similar symptoms. I felt miserable. Google natures flu shot. The ingredients are all natural. I drank 1 cup, took a hot shower went to sleep and felt 80% better by the morning. I stopped drinking it after the 2nd cup bc I ran out of ingredients but it usually works for he pretty quickly when I feel like I'm coming down with something. I have no time to be sick with a toddler and LO on the way.
Oh btw it tastes nasty! Bottoms up!
I had a sinus infection around weeks 31 or 32. I was prescribed antibiotics and Flonase. I was also taking Benadryl and using a Neti Pot. I ended up in the ER in the middle of the night after about 8 days of antibiotics with an obstructed nasal passage....holy crap painful! I was given pain meds and more antibiotics, and finally was better a few days later.
During the day its not so bad but at night it all sits in my nasal passage and I cough up this really thick green junk.... agh it's horrible. Think a nasal spray should do the trick till monday. I hope to God its only allergies and not something serious.... im still staying fever free so thats good.
