Labor Playlist - Recap!

So, I was just perusing J14 and A14 reminiscing about our pregnant lady days. There is much talk over there about going home outfits, PNP vs RNP, and labor playlists. It got me thinking... How did the labor playlist usage go for those of you who made one?

    I thought about making one and never did it. Didn't care that I didn't. There was a nice flat screen in my room, and I made it a point to bring a DVD player and The Hobbit. Didn't even ever turn the tv on. I was too in the zone to care about anything but my contractions!

    I didn't make one, thought I might regret it, but then didn't wind up missing it. In fact, I think it would only have ticked me off. I shushed my husband a bunch of times because any distraction at all during the more serious contractions made me insanely angry.

    I just played our wedding/honeymoon playlist it's was all all our favorite songs so it brought calm over me.

    I wouldn't have been able to hear it even if I'd had one. I was totally that screaming pregnant lady you see on TV!

    SS: didn't make one, didn't mean to, didn't need one. I did watch some Netflix on my phone but most if my labor was in the middle of the night and I didn't need music for whatever reason.

    I was in active labor for 3 days and didn't care at all that I didn't have music.

    I didn't make a playlist, but at one point I did ask for my MP3 player and earbuds since music is one of the ways I calm myself when I'm starting to panic.  After about three songs, I was ready to throw it across the room.  It wasn't as good an idea as I thought it would be, for some reason.  :-<

    Never intended to make one.  And thinking back, there is no way I would have been in the mood to listen to music of any kind!

    I am glad I didn't wast my time making one. I was in the delivery room less than 10 minutes before dd was born

    We put on pandora on the Florence and the machine station while laboring at home. At the time it was just background noise but now when I hear any of the songs that were playing it makes me think of my labor and I get all nostalgic. (I had a really quick labor this time so it brings back just the feelings of excitement in meeting her)

    My doula had a CD playing. I don't like music in general, but her CD (along with LED candles and lights off) helped set a calming mood in the room.

    The only song DH played was Barracuda after I told him Sullivan's heartbeat sounded like the baseline to that song. And then I was like, ok you're funny. Now turn it off.

    Ss I tailored a Pandora station before I went into labor, it was orchestral videogame music. I listened and loved it.

    Didn't make one and didn't plan on it. The hospital had some soothing sounds cd playing and I just went with that. I wasn't paying attention to music at all. DH and I actually watched tv after the epi was put in. Pretty sure I have birth with the tv on.

    I spent a good deal of time making playlists beforehand. Once my water broke during my induction, I listened to about 2.5 songs, and then shit got real, so away my iPhone went.

    I do listen to my "baby tune" mixes a lot! These are all swear-proof songs that momma likes, too.
