Fever

Talk to me about fevers.  My oldest (2 1/2) has a 101.4 fever and is lethargic.  She was acting normally all day, but dh did bedtime solo and said she was asking to go to bed and fell asleep instantly.  Well, that hasn't happened in months, lol.  Then she woke up crying and covered in sweat.  Thoughts?  She hasn't been sick in forever and we've never dealt with fevers.
Hallelujah, it's a miracle, I have children AND a signature!

Re: Fever

  • Ds had a fever of 104, swollen tonsils, a little snotty, acted fine except when the fever would spike and then he got clingy. He's been waking up through the night soaked in sweat too. Took him to the Dr today and he tested positive for mono (tested negative for strep first.) got a rx for prednisone as needed and told us to give ibuprofen for the swollen tonsils and fever.

  • Has she had decreased appetite? Dr wants us offering lots of water to help with the fever and lack of eating.
  • One more thing, the sweating at night is a symptom of sleep apnea, which is kind of a temporary symptom when little ones have swollen tonsils or airways.
