Kid Funnies?

Can we do some kid funnies today?

The other night we were reading Goodnight Moon, which we read a lot, so DS was helping me fill in the words (not that he can read, but I was pointing at the pictures):

Me: In the great, green room there was a telephone, and a red

DS: balloon!

Me: and a picture of a

DS: cow!

Me: jumping over the

DS: moon!

....And there were three little bears! sitting on chairs! And two little kittens! And a pair of gloves!

DH and I just lost it haha. And it sounds so stupid to reiterate but it was freakin hilarious; he was so sure of it.

What goofy things are your kids saying?

Also, DH had not put gas in his car either. This was a tragedy that needed to be corrected. At 1am.

I also got this speech this week:

"Mommy, when I get big, I gonna dwive a biiiiiiiig car. I gonna turn it on and go to da Dunkin Donuts house. Den I gonna go to da Walmart House and get more Dunkin Donuts. Den I gonna go to de udder Dunkin Donuts house and DEN I gonna dwive home."

Glad to see my kid has a life plan.

It is not so much a quote, but DS's life plan. He has recently been telling us all how he needs to find a girl. He is going to marry her and they are going to have two kids, a boy and a girl. He is going to have a black dog named Fluffy, and a cat (no name yet). They are going to live in a big...no huge...no humongous house...much bigger than this house. It is going to have purple walls. We were furniture shopping, and he picked out pink, purple, and cow print fabric for his furniture and had the salesman save it for him when he is older and can come back for it.

The plan keeps evolving and is pretty detailed.

I got home from my run a couple days ago & Zoey asked why my arms were crying. I looked super confused and then said "oh no babe, that's sweat. I'm sweaty. " now every morning when she sees me she goes, "sweaty?" & runs her finger on my arm.

Also the other morning I started my period. I was in the downstairs bathroom so I yelled up to DH to throw down a box of tampons. Z goes "daddy, mommy needs a pampon!!" I snorted I laughed so hard.

The other night I was reading to DS in his bed. He was sick so we were snuggling. He heard a big BANG and said it was probably a Zombie. I told him I didn't hear anything, so it was probably the dishwasher running downstairs. He said "No, it was a loud bang, like pots and pans hitting the floor." I said "Ok good night." LOL

The next morning I opened our curtains and our grill was on it's side and had fallen down the deck stairs. (Raccoons?) DS said "Mommy I TOLD YOU!! A Zombie WAS here and threw our grill. Good thing I was here to keep you safe." Aww!!

I volunteered at VBS a month ago. DS is too young. Since I was a volunteer, he got to come too. I found our CD of songs the other night so I turned them on. DS immediately looked at DH and said, "Daddy, you go back to work. We need to go back to church!"

He hasn't heard the songs in a month, but he remembers them.

I've been teaching the babies the right way to drink out of a bottle of water. I had to tell them to pucker their lips like they're gonna give me a kiss then I put the bottle up to their lips. Well, now they do it on their own without being told. Lydia saw Anna drinking some water from my bottle in the car this morning and said "Nononono! You're supposed to put your mouth all the way around the top!" Dude, no! I've tried explaining to Lydia NOT to drink it that way but she says it's easier. Gah!!

Oh and he likes to joke around and change the words to songs. Like he'll sing "Row row row your CORN" and laugh hysterically.

Today's funny was more what they did than what they said.....let's just say I found myself saying "Blueberries don't go in our ears!" at lunch today.....I'm sure if they keep testing this limit it will get irritating, but I had a hard time keeping a straight face today.

DS1 keeps picking up folksy terms. First it was "sure is..." like, "Sure is hot outside, sure is good macaroni and cheese, sure is a lot of poop."
Now he's started "Say,..." As in "Say, I have an idea. Say, that's a funny joke!" He is secretly 85.
