Wedding Dress Poll

Since we're asking nosy questions about weddings, I'm curious what people spent on their wedding dress. I often think that I'm glad I never watched Say Yes to the Dress before my wedding or I would have had a drastically different idea about how much money I should have spent on my dress. But maybe that's the norm and I'm just cheap. How much do real people spend?

I voted more than 10k, but I meant ss. I had 3 dresses. 2 Chinese dresses-- one was 200, one was 800, and my white dress was 900.

Dress was $525 then I was douped into spending $450 on 2 veils . Part of me wished I would of just bought my dream dress for $980...sigh

Dress was Maggie Sottero and it cost 1050, and then about 90 for alterations.

I had an AMAZING wedding dress shopping experience. First store I went to (Alfredo Angelo), picked a bunch of dresses and fell in love with the second one I tried on. It had the pockets I wanted, and it fit me to a T.
Then I found my sash and veil.

The dress was originally $1200 but was on sale because it was last season. It was $150. I walked out of Alfred Angelo with my dress, veil and sash for under $500. No alterations or anything (until 6 months later when I found out I was pregnant lol...but even then the only alteration was changing the zip up back to a lace up.)

Sorry for the long story, I just loved that day.

Can I just AW my dress?? Lol. Loved it so much. It was before every dress had ruffles, too, so it was relatively unique at the time.

Bought mine right off the rack for $500. I continue to be told that my dress was one of the most beautiful people had ever seen. Antique champagne lace and bead bodice and hem. I still look at it and wish I could wear it 100 more times

Holy crap. If there were really a Daughter of the Year award, I would give it to you. I love my mom, but I wasn't gonna wear a dress I hated and have to feel self-conscious in it and stare at pictures forever, etc.

1,600 with alterations. I think I paid a little too much for it, though. It was the only dress that I really liked my first day shopping.

Mine was a white bridesmaid dress I got for $150 and my mom and I did the alterations ourselves

$170 in materials. MIL made it. I found one I liked in a a magazine. Showed it to her, then found a pattern, picked out the satin and she did the rest.

Love! I was between avera wang and jim hjelm dress. I ended up with the Jim hjelm with intent to sell on that website but it's still in my closet :-( lol.

I cannot WAIT to wear mine! It's allure all lace and it was 1200 and a crystal sash that was like...'abnsdh500'najashd. I also have a cathedral veil. Can't wait can't wait can't wait!!!!

$1600 for just the dress. We them ordered extra lace to make detachable sleeves for the ceremony. With veil and alterations, more like 2100.

I wore my mom's wedding dress from 1977, so that part didn't cost me anything. I added a black sash and a brooch, which cost about $40, mainly because I wanted an excuse to wear black shoes.

Also, AWing our white knots for marriage equality. Even my 80-year-old, ornery, grandpa wore one.

Thanks, @carawasa! I was so excited it fit without alterations. My mom died when I was 18, so it was quite an emotional moment for me -- and my dad. Such an awesome day.

I paid $135.00 on ebay. The dress fit like a glove so I didn't have to have it altered. All accessories/shoes included I spent about $250.00 Also found our bridesmaids dresses on ebay for $60.00 each!
