FF Check-In (July 2nd)

Can we do another one of these? My baby wasn't here yet when we did the first one. She had lost 8% at her first appt on Monday, so I am curious how much the littlest ones are drinking.

How old is your LO?

How much formula are they taking and how often?

What brand?

Questions/concerns?

Re: FF Check-In (July 2nd)

  • 5 weeks today! Which I just realized like 10 mins ago. Awesome mommy right here!

Hubby gives them formula at night, probably 2 to 3 feedings each so 9 ounces or so a day (3 oz per feeding).

We switch between Enfamil newborn and Similac neosure. They have to have 2 feedings each of neosure per their pedi.

Does anyone know how to get free formula samples/coupons/savings?

  • Bennett will be six weeks old tomorrow.

he drinks Gerber Good Start Soy fortified from the regular 20 cal up to 24 cal and we just started adding in 1.5 tsp of rice cereal for more calories/to make it thicker since he has some swallowing issues.

he takes 3 oz every 3 hours during the day and 4 hours at night.

hang in there with the weight loss mama it'll come back eventually :)
  • Paisley is 3 wks old tomorrow

    2-3 oz every 2.5 to 3 hours

Enfamil newborn right now cause I had sample cans and coupons but then I'll probably switch to similac.

@katekat8721‌ I think some companies have twin programs too where you can get extra samples, coupons, etc.. I saw a post on Pinterest about it at some point...

  • Today I started supplementing DS, so while I'm not exclusively FF, I'd like to see how FF is going for everyone.

How old is your LO? 4 weeks

How much formula are they taking and how often? If he's still hungry after 20 minutes of nursing, he takes 2oz of formula.

What brand? Enfamil Nutramigen, to attempt to calm his colic screams down.

Questions/concerns? Just hoping our new plan of supplementing will help him feel better!

  • How old is your LO? Six weeks on Friday.

How much formula are they taking and how often? 4 oz every 3 hours or so. She usually takes 7 feedings a day.

What brand? Mostly Similac Advance. She had Enfamil today bc we got samples from the pedi and tolerated that fine ad well. I asked my pedi his opinion on store brands and will likely buy some Target brand this week as well.

Questions/concerns? She is 90% for weight and I'm concerned she is eating too much. Pedi wasn't concerned and was actually happy to see weight gain (she had trouble gaining when I was trying to BF). I guess anywhere on the chart is normal, I'm just trying to make sure I'm feeding her when she's actually hungry and not grabbing a bottle just bc she is fussy.

Looking at the numbers I know I am going to need to do some supplementing especially once DS starts daycare unless something drastic changes.

My question is the formula that says newborn 0-3 months, can you use it at an older age? I compared labels and it looks like it just has slightly more calories or am I missing something nutrient-wise? I have some milk in the freezer from the first few weeks when I was able to outpace him so I am trying to decide if I need to use up the newborn formula I have and save the frozen until afterwards or if I can burn through my freezer stash and still use the newborn formula next even if he is slightly older that 3 months? I'd rather free up the freezer space first unless that would mean pitching free formula

How old is your LO? 6 weeks yesterday

How much formula are they taking and how often? 4oz every 3 hours

    What brand?enfamil soy

Questions/concerns? My guy use to sleep at night for at least one 4-5 hour stretch. He now wakes up at 3 hours exactly. For some reason he won't eat the 4oz at his 1am feeding so I think that's why he's waking up sooner. It's like he gets too tired half way through. I try changing him to wake him up but he won't take the bottle! He only will take 2oz and I know he's still hungry.

He also stopped at 3oz right before bed and I convinced him to finish off the last oz which meant I ended up getting puked on. He's a pig during the day and I'm sure could eat 5oz!

Also the baby brezza was glorious for 2 days and then broke. Im pissed but set up a return with amazon. Let's hope the new one works at least a week!

How are your LOs doing with poops? When we were using the ready-to-use formula from the hospital, he was pooping multiple times a day. Since switching to powder, it's been a full day with no poop. He doesn't seem uncomfortable but just worried he will get too backed up.

We have the ready to use bottles for travel only but I see him react better with spit up, being able to even a swollow easier and poos better with it. I hate they are so expensive! We use the powder at home but wish we could use the ready to use bottles 24/7
  • My first time checking in here, we switched to formula after a horrific week of my LO screaming constantly. Turns out I have no supply so he was starving :(

How old is your LO? Lane is 13 days

How much formula are they taking and how often? 2.5 ounces every 3 hours

    What brand? Similac advanced

Questions/concerns? He seems like he's struggling to poop, but when he poops he dosent seem constipated. Maybe it's just bad gas?

If you have luck with these let me know @katekat8721...unfortunately everyone that we contacted said they are no longer running multiple birth discount programs (I read most places stopped because of rising numbers of twins). We got a letter back with 1-2 coupons and, in the case of Gerber, a free bib. The only thing we really ha luck with was a program Enfamil does for preemies that the NICU got us enrolled in.

  • 1) they are 8 weeks old

    2) both eat every 4 hours...Mumble takes 2.75-4oz and Hugsy takes 3.5-4oz

    3) we are still on Enfacare (the Enfamil preemie stuff)...we see the pedi in a week and I plan to ask how much longer they'll be on it

    4) not really
