I am actually loving the exhaustion of third tri. I had insomnia before I got pregnant, so anything that knocks me out and keeps me asleep is good in my book! I am lucky that the tiredness doesn't hit until mid-evening though. If it were in the middle of the day I might feel differently.
Everyone made cervical checks sound super painful. So today when she said she wanted to check me I as terrified. And it as a breeze. Just pressure. But baby is head down and cervix is "softening" but at 32 weeks its normal so whooooo!
I don't plan to "stock up" on anything for DD. I'll have one pack of diapers, wipes, pads, breast pads, etc on hand, because honestly, I will be desperate for any legit reason to leave the house during those first few weeks. A trip to Target by myself will likely be the only alone time I will have for weeks.
I'm not taking a birthing class, I don't have a birth plan. I don't adapt well when my plans don't go they way they are supposed to, so this is best for me. My plan is to show up the hospital, get drugged, and do what the Dr. and nurses tell me too. As long as I have healthy baby at the end what does it matter?

This may be more of a FFFC, but since it's my Friday, I'm going to put it here anyway.
MIL told DH to take the Pack n Play off the registry since his family doesn't know how to use registries and someone bought it for us, but didn't go through the registry. MIL is notorious for buying things similar to things I've expressed interest in if she's browsing around Walmart or Ross. I put a lot of research into which Pack n Play and what color I want. I don't want to take it off the registry in case the one that was bought it the wrong on.

I'm sick of people changing their usernames. It's hard enough to keep track as it is!
Yes, it's driving me crazy too! I understand there were a few people who wanted to change for security reasons (originally signed up with their names making them too recognizable to IRL people) but it seems everyone is just doing it for fun now. Stop!

I'd keep it on your registry. Worst thing that happens is you end up with two and return the one you don't want for store credit.

You're not alone. I'm doing this. I was worried I was going to be crazy for not taking classes, but heard from others who didn't, so I felt better.

I figured I couldn't be the only one. My neighbor has 6 kids and she never took a class. Some of it has to be instinict to I hope.

Here's another - stop asking me if I'm nesting! No I am not nesting, I have not cleaned the house top to bottom or really done anything more than wash and put away clothes. Which I just think of as being organized. My husband is the one who cleans and preps, he's the one who's "nesting"! If left to my own devices the dishes would stay in the sink until I ran out of something, the dust would collect until I could right my name in it, and there would be a months worth of mail piled up! I don't see this changing just because the babies about to be born.
sorry people at work at driving me up the wall expecting me to fit into the "perky pregnant lady" mode, ugh!

I cannot stand commercials that are all about womens empowerment. (see Pantenes newest commercial "sorrynotsorry". ) I'm not saying I disagree with the message. I just don't think we need cooperations telling us to do it. It feels like pandering.
I do make a couple of exceptions though, I love the Goldieblox commercials and the verizon one.

Eh I just watched the Pantene commercial. I kinda liked it. It wasn't until this past year that I really began to understand just how much damage culture/society has done to women over 3000 years or so. ESPECIALLY Christianity... and I feel like the recent backlash against women (like the laws that circumvent Roe v Wade and SCOTUS' ruling) are proof that women are finally starting to make a come back. I guess my UO is that I'm all for stuff like this. *Jumps down off of feminist platform*
Ugh.. I just remembered I have a VERY religious friend on FB who tried to tell me that she and her husband's happiness was due to her being "subservient" to him.. like it says in the Bible. Another time someone else told me that cause of America's moral decay/root of all evil stemmed from women entering the work force. If women had continued to stay home, this country would be thriving. Sigh.
The only reason I took the birthing class is so my H could massage me for about 3 hours in total (non consecutively). I took full advantage of getting pampered, but I honestly didn't learn anything new. I left real relaxed though!

Welp guess I'm ruining the country because I'm the primary bread winner and DH is going to be a SAHD as soon as we can swing it financially! People need to keep their oppions to themselves, honestly.

I think everybody has hit the IDGAF.... fuck off...pissy.....I'm over it stage! That can be a popular or unpopular opinion.
I'm in that stage! Add family drama and DD deciding that getting up for several hours at a time in the middle of the night is the best thing ever and I'm ready to go hide in a dark room for a week.
I'm excited about having a baby. But I'm equally excited about being away from my job for 9 weeks of maternity leave. I honest to God feel that being home and stressed with a newborn who cries and poops will be STILL be less stressful than my job (and my boss).
I'm tired of people walking/running/jogging in the road. Instead of the sidewalk- when there is a perfectly good, level, free of any other people- sidewalk available. Why would you walk in the street, and there's cars parked on the street, so I've seen people walk on the Street side of the parked cars, they're like halfway into my lane!
I understand bikes have a right to the road, but pedestrians?! walk on the sidewalk, that's why it's there!

ETA: This may not be an UO...
This. All of it.
I'm hoping an opportunity works out for me while on leave.
I don't feel like making a big hoo-doo out of the 4th. No cook outs or fireworks for this mamma. I just wanna sit in the AC with DH and play video games.
NBR: I hate Chick-fil-A's new grilled chicken. Whatever seasoning they put on it is gross.

I was really bummed when they changed their menus. I wish they still had the chargrilled chicken salad, I would tear those things up.
I agree about all the people bugging me. For us, it's about the name. "Do you have a name yet? What's this baby's name?!?! You don't have a name?!?!" UGH. The child will not leave the hospital without a name. And NO...I do not want your name suggestions. Grrrrrr.

I get what you are saying. Once again I am not saying I disagree with the message. But at the end of the day these companies are trying to sell women a product, not start a revolution. Dove did the same thing with the love your body campaign (Dove owned by the same people who make Axe and their terrible commercials) . whether it's about not saying sorry for things you have no control over (which by the way my very Christian parents drilled into my head at a young age,) or playing on womens insecureties. It's gendered marketing either way and I find it patronizing. This video was the one that really got me thinking about gendered marketing https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3JDmb_f3E2c

I'm so sick of this. And I know people are just asking to be polite and it seems like the thing to ask an 8 month pregnant person. But every time I tell them we don't know yet, or we'll find out when she's born, they start giving me suggestions! Like, really, I don't need baby name suggestions and I have a hard time knowing what to say. I usually just smile and nod, or say that's a pretty name.

I would probably say something along the lines of "we're naming them none of your dam business" Which is why I try to stay away from people curretnly....

I read someone's religious view once on the female orgasm. It went something like this-
It's blasphemy for a woman to have an orgasm. Sex is not for their enjoyment, they are there for the man to enjoy sex and to bare children.
It's not word for word and it went on to say something about God and such...it was kind of disturbing reading it...

Stuck in the stupid box It's all good It's been a while since I've gotten into a UO debate and I may have been a bit over excited about it.

Ditto.. Quick, someone tell me how awesome Fox News is, or how Barak Hussein Obama is a communist/Muslim/Nazi. Or just tell me about how you don't think insurance companies should have to pay for birth control.

That don't make no sense if God didn't want us to enjoy sex and he is the creator then he would have made women incapable of enjoying sex. Thats my opinion anyways I'm not wanting to get into a religious argument.
Just wanted to pitch in and say that that opinion is definitely just one person's and one sided. I'm a Christian and have always been taught and believed that God did create sex for our enjoyment. And believe me, I enjoy myself as often as I can!!
My UO: I can't stand the weekly check-in that goes over what we've all accomplished the past week. All it does is make me feel like I haven't done crap.
