May 2013 Moms

WTH?!?!

Okay, I see a lot of May momma's are having sleeping issues!!!! J got up for the day at 3:45 yesterday and 4:30 today. Also, all the sudden he's stopped going down easy for naps or bedtime! It feels like we're sleep training all over again and it sucks.
Who else wants to vent about sleep issues? Who else either feels like falling asleep standing or cry from lack of sleep and not knowing what to do or both?

Re: WTH?!?!

  • Last week E woke up 6 days in a row between 5 and 5:30am. That wouldn't be so bad if she weren't waking up every 2 hours. Ugh.

She gave me my first 4 hour stretch in weeks (months?) last night and it was awesome.

I'm so over this crap. I would dang near kill to get a 6 hour stretch of sleep.

  • Last night, LO slept through the night for the first time in like....months. I think her sleep issues were stemming from multiple things, cold and ear infection, molars coming in, etc. I have no idea why she randomly sttn last night, but I sure hope it continues, because the deprivation is really, really hurting me.  One thing I did change last night is that I kept her bedroom door completely closed, usually I open it half way when we go to bed. I'm wondering if the totally dark room combined with her sound machine maybe being more amplified by the closed door made the difference. Or it was random and will never happen again.

  • Oh geez @mommatotwo2‌ I've played that game so many times!!! My LO is so unpredictable though that I could repeat the exact same routine every.single.day and the results would be different every.damn.time!
  • Rachel never wants to nap for us, but naps fine at daycare, so this week has been hell because we are on vacation.  That, coupled with the fact that her room gets a lot of morning light, means she's been a cranky, whiny mess.  We tried to put her down for a nap four different times today and it was not happening.  She goes down well at night but has literally been up with the sun every day this week.

  • We never sleep trained but tue past week has been bad. At first I thought it was another tooth but now I dont feel it. Daycare says she is happy and naps great. Good for them but by the time I bring her home she is a hot mess and fussy.

    DH and I are exhausted.

  • Alright, I want a sleep expert's number. I'm feeling a little violent after last night's 45 min crying session at 2 am and then up for the day at 4:30.
Also to my pediatrician who said that he would figure it out: WHEN?!?! SLEEP TRAINING FOR TWO MONTHS DOES NOT EQUAL FIGURING IT OUT! I can't wait for our 15 mo apt to rub it in her face.
