I have the JJ Cole Agility wrap and really like it! We are going to Denver next week (LO will be 11 weeks), and I decided I wanted to try a little sturdier carrier. A friend is letting me borrow her Ergo. However, she didn't have a newborn insert. How necessary is the insert? I've read that you can fold up blankets in the bottom. How should an 11-week old sit in the carrier? I plan on doing a few test runs before we leave, but thought I would ask some of you ladies who have experience!

So your LO's legs are still in the carrier, @melainiandmark‌? My LO pushes against the bottom of my wrap, and I wonder if he'll do the same in the Ergo.

DD2 is 14lbs at 11wks I fold up her legs like you would for a moby.

I haven't used a moby either. Would their legs be "froggy style" (I don't know how else to word it.)

Yes kind of like sitting Indian style and then trying to stand on your knees...if that makes sense

Yes DS goes "froggy style" in ot with out the insert.

He is around 13 lbs (was a week ago) so I'll try you're suggestions!

I use a rolled up receiving blanket in the bottom and froggy her legs like the PP said. Her feet are a little to the outside and hit my hipbones.

So it sounds like they don't need to be boosted too high?

I never used the insert with DD, just had her legs froggy style inside. I also have the agility wrap and I do put her legs out in that because I can adjust it, but we haven't used the ergo in a while. She is almost 14lbs and will be 12 weeks tomorrow.
