So I went in for another beta this morning to make sure my hcg levels are dropping and the ob was concerned that they are staying around 30. She did an exam and prescribed me cytotec. She said my hcg levels are abnormal and my body isn't having a proper miscarriage.
I can't believe this isn't over yet... she has also put us on a 3 month wait before we can start trying again.
Anyone have experience with cytotec that can tell me what to prepare for in the next couple of days, mentally or physically?

I did take Cytotec, but it was for retained tissue after my first D&C, so my experience may be a little different. My experience with it was not good. I was up all night with horrible cramps. I had a script for Percocet but that wasn't even cutting it. I lost a lot of blood at first and almost passed out. Sorry, not trying to scare you. Everyone's experience is different. I made the mistake of taking it at night thinking I would be able to sleep through most of it. I definitely recommend taking it during the day so that your DH is awake if you need his help.
I hope everything goes smoothly for you. ((hugs))

I had mine administered vaginally instead of taken by mouth. My dr said that some people administer it vaginally themselves, but it's more successful when the doctor puts it in. She made a paste out of the pills, and then applied it to my cervix. About fifteen minutes later, the pain started. Holy moly!!! It truly feels like you're having a baby, if you've ever been through labor. The cramps lasted about 12 hours for me. I didn't start bleeding until five hours post application. I have not passed any large clots. However, the blood that I have seen has been very thick and dark, almost black. The NP at my dr's office said that's still good to be seeing. It has been almost 72 hours since I was administered the drug and I am still bleeding. I think it can last up to a week. I'm not sure.
I am so sorry that you're having to go through this. It is very taxing and emotionally draining.
Thoughts and prayers for you!

My OB gave me cytotec postpartum. I was hemorrhaging, and they wanted my uterus to contract to slow down the bleeding. It did cause a lot of cramping/contractions for me.
