My doctors don't tell me what to expect at my appointments too much. They did let me know before the last one that there'd be a pap smear done (yay....) but didn't give me a heads up for week 16 appointment. Anything "scary" I need to worry about? My biggest issue is all the blood work. I don't like needles.
Re: 16 Week Appointment
After seeing so many posts I think everyone's appointments go differently. If your not having an ultrasound your appointment will probably be quick as long as you're not having any problems. They will listen for the heartbeat on the Doppler and make sure you're feeling ok. All my blood work was done between appointments at a lab. I'm not a huge fan of needles so I just look the other direction and its not as bad. I don't think there will be anything scary to worry about.

As far as I can remember mine consisted of peeing in the cup, taking weight, blood pressure, listening to the heartbeat and then literally like 5 minutes of meeting with my OB. We scheduled my a/s for the following appointment. I honestly don't remember getting blood work at my 16 week. I think your next blood work will be for your GD testing.
