If you've had the mirena iud..

Did you receive a ultra sound as part of the insertion?

This is my 2nd time to have one and this office inserted it while giving me an ultra sound. They seemed to be training the u/s tech on what it looked like when inserted and I thought nothing of it until I received a huge bill to pay for the u/s. !?!?

    Never had an ultrasound. She used something to figure out where to put it. I don't know what it was called. Then, yesterday (6 weeks after insertion) she just checked it vaginally.

    No ultrasound for me. I have an appointment in a week to "see how things are going" (4 weeks after insertion) so I'm not completely sure yet but boy I hope not! I would hate to fork out money for that.

    I had no us but will be back 4 weeks after insertion for what my mw called a "string check". Im no scientist, but I'm assuming she will just take a look and make sure the strings are in place. ;)
