Thought we could use a happy/funny thread to beat those baby blues. I've seen comments in threads where you think your squish looks like some kind of animal or insect. With us, we call our little guy "turtle man". In the pic below, he's making his mean turtle face bc he's hungry for the 3048838 time of the day. Post your pics and who/what you think your LO resembles!

I don't know that she looks like an animal, but we always call her Goose. When she is in a really deep sleep, she throws her arms out like she is flying. So cute! Here is a pic of her chatting with her best friend, a musical giraffe!

The nurse helping me learn to nurse in the hospital called D Berry the Barracuda bc he shakes his head from side to side before lunging forward to latch. It's too funny!

When Aamie is really hungry she sounds like what I think a Velociraptor would sound like so I call her my little Velociraptor a lot.

I call Bennett baby bird because when he's hungry he wrinkles up his forehead and his mouth goes into this teeny tiny little "O" shape and it just looks like a little bird to me. it's so sweet until he starts lifting his head and banging it into my chest repeatedly until he gets fed

I love that wrinkly forehead!! I think that's what inspired us to call him "turtle" that and when he's naked he looks like a turtle with no shell. (A much cuter version of this- sans the butter)

@Merie412‌ our little monkey is still covered too, and she's 6 weeks.

We call Charlie little monkey (hairy), baby bird (potty face), and little piranha (when she latches). She also makes what I think a velociraptor sounds like. It's hilarious!

We call her monkey (because of the hair) and baby bird (because of the way she stretches her neck looking for food). A friends daughter calls her penguin, not sure why but that's what she wanted us to name her lol

When I was a baby I used to suck my cheeks in (to make a fish face) and then suck my bottom lip under my top lip and my parents called it "turtle face" because I looked like a snapping turtle with the pointed top lip. I can still do it. The other day C did this during a feeding (she didn't completely suck her cheeks in though but she did the bottom lip). Mamma was so proud.

DD (and all newborns) totally look like baby monkeys to me and DH. So we call her "monkey baby". It also helps that she has long monkey toes (she'll grasp your finger with her toes just like she does with her fingers).

We call her "zombaby" and scream like she is trying to zombie-eat our faces or necks off whenever she tries to latch onto me or DH when we are holding her on our chests and she is really hungry.

"Ahhhhhh! Zombaby attack! Get your boob out quick!"

I swear we are mature adults.

LO reminds me of an otter, mostly because I find otters really cute and also she's very active and likes water. She also reminds me of a puppy when she's ready to eat because there's some growling and almost pouncing involved. DH thinks her witching hour cries sound like a velociraptor

Connor, on the other hand, is my little piglet!! All he wants to do is eat! He now weighs more than his brother who, at birth, was half an inch longer and 3oz heavier!

Eta we call them both starfish, too, because when they are laying down and get startled they throw out their arms and legs stick straight and look like little starfish!!

We call him little birdie because when he is hungry and starts rooting he looks like a little baby bird waiting for food. He is also a little piggy. He has gained 2 pounds in 4 weeks. He gained a whole 12 oz in 7 days last week! He started as a 5 pounder though so I'm happy he's eating

I call Cora my cranky old man. She always has a sour cranky old man look on her face and even old man hair that's longer around the edges and on the back. I can just hear her saying "get off my lawn!"My husband refers to her as squacklemore and goes around singing Thrift Shop replacing most of the words with squawk. The first thing she did when she was born was let out a giant squawk that sounded like a bird so squawk has stuck.

With all the lanugo back hair he has, we should be calling him a monkey lol. He puckers his lips when he wants to eat, just like a fish. I really need to take a picture of it, but am usually trying to get ready to feed him and miss it. I'll add the photo here if I manage to get one.

My dad calls Isaac "Froggy Went A'courtin'" because of how he almost always has his legs up and moves them up and down like a frog. I also say how he sounds like a little dog when he hiccups!
