Shoes and Socks: $5.99

Please take pity on me...the FTM who is new to shoes.
V got a pair of stride rites about a month ago and in the past 2 weeks has increased his standing so we are sending him to school in his shoes everyday.

The shoes have now started to get funky smelling...husband thinks its because he isn't wearing socks and I said that the lady who fitted us at stride rite said nothing about socks so I am not sure we need them.

Do we need socks when they are new to shoes?
Does my kid just have funky smelling feet?
Will the shoes still fit properly with socks?

My kid has the smelliest feet ever. The stride rite shoes likely have real leather, which combined with sweaty feet is super smelly. I would put socks on him. We have been making a fashion faux pas in putting socks on him with his stride ride sandals due to the foot sweat and stank.

His feet are probably just sweating since it's so hot.

I think the socks husband was trying to put on were really bulky...the shoes fit beautifully. We will try socks.

Make sure to buy socks without grips on the bottom. When we bought G's shoes all we had were grippy socks. It bunches up their feet in their shoes. Seems obvious to me now but I didn't think about it at the time.

We always do socks with shoes unless they are sandals.

We sometimes put socks and sometimes don't.

Maybe try sprinkling a little baking soda in the bottom of the shoes overnight, I bet that will help with the smell!

We haven't had that problem! Half of B's socks have the grippies and his shoes go on fine still. No bunching!

We don't do socks. Yeah, the shoes smell but only if you stick your nose in them!

It's either Roneez (no socks) or his Pedi Ped originals sandals (no socks). I don't keep him in them that long to be honest, indoors they come off so he hasn't had a chance to develop feet stank.
