Low hcg levels??

I went in to get my blood drawn two days ago to check my hcg levels (with my son my hcg was very low in the beginning and they thought I wasn't pregnant, with my son now two years old, I can now assure them that they were wrong lol) to make sure that they were doubling normally. I am 4 weeks 2 days and my level was 44? They told me it should be in the hundreds and I had to get my blood redrawn today. I am so scared that it won't double again and that I may miscarry. Has anyone had this happen to them and had a healthy baby???

    Breathe.  I don't know who told you it should be in the 100s, but they are an idiot.  How do you know that you're 4w2d?  Are you basing that off your last month's period?  If you did not temp/chart to record ovulation you have no idea how far along you really are.

    I really hope the best for you.  Keep us updated when you get results.

    Ditto @graciesmurf‌. Were you charting or doing OPKs? I'm hoping you are just earlier than you thought. Fx for good doubling betas!

    My first was 39 on Friday, then 124 on Monday. I went in again today. I'll find out tomorrow how were doing. Friday was the day my period was due if it was a 25 day cycle. My cycles tend to either be 25 or 28 days since I went off bc. You may not be as far along as you think? Good thoughts for ya.

    I agree with PPs, there is a huge range of what is considered "normal". Hopefully you'll see a big jump at your next draw.

    Ditto what others said. The trend is more important than the number. My first beta was 27 and if you went by my LMP I was 4w 2d, but I know I typically ovulate late. That's probably all it is. FX your next beta is good.

    I went in for my first hcg draw on Monday and I asked the nurse what would be a good starting number to expect... She told me between 40 and 50. So, I think you're fine. My doctor told me that they just want it to increase with each draw and, even better, for it to double every 48-72 hours. Hope this helps!

    Well, I bugged the clinic about four times today only to get the result 10 minutes before they closed. It has now jumped up to 144, which is a good increase they said, but it is still very low. They will have the doctor look at it and get back to me Monday. Such a long time to wait!!!

    They're doubling, that's all that matters :) those numbers don't seem too bad to me!
