*update in Op* lots of pain & pressure

edited July 2014 in July 2014 Moms
I need some advise to help me handle this till I see my doctor tomorrow. We were out all day yesterday for Canada day did lots of walking around and heat. For past couple days have had strong stabbing like pains like I did before I was pregnant and had ovarian cysts. Yesterday by the evening I was having so much pain I wanted to cry. My right bottom half of my leg went numb. This morning the leg numbness has gone away but still having lots of pelvis pain and can barley walk. When I was 34 weeks I started having contractions and by 35 weeks I was 2cm dilated and fully thinned out. I was having contractions with the pains but nothing regular so took it as false labor and from walking. Sorry for long. What can I do at home to help with the pain make it go away till I go see my doctor tomorrow? thank you ladies for any advise.

*Update: saw my doctor today and he just put everything off from the baby dropping farther down into my pelvis. Had a major pain when he pushed a spot in my pelvis to check where baby's head was and it sent a sharp pain into my back. Have been having lots more pressure and pains/non-regular contractions anytime i walk. been resting and trying to stay as comfortable as possible. Hoping this means baby will be coming soon. doctor never checked my cervix though i no many say cervix checks don't mean much, so just playing the waiting game.

  • Drink lots of water and put your feet up is all I can suggest.  And definitely take it easy today.

  • Call your dr and drink lots of water and take it easy. Pack your hospital bag if not already done and try some breathing and relaxation techniques. You tube has lots of guided meditation or music for meditation that I often find calming and distracting of discomfort. GL, you're going to have a baby soon!
  • Call your doctor. That I'd not something to put off.

  • Thank you ladies for advice. My doctor is closed today but I called l&d because I have been having a lot of false labor past couple weeks they told me to watch if it increases to go in. They told me the same thing drink water and rest but also to walk if I can or take a warm bath. Basically I have been watching it for any increase.

First off, I'm glad you called L&D. It's always better to be safe than sorry. Secondly, about a week ago I started cleaning my house like a mad woman and ended up on self-imposed bed rest. I had horrible cramping and actually wondered if it was the start of labor. After spending the day in bed and drinking tons of water, I felt a ton better and the cramping went away. Here's hoping you feel better too!

Could it possibly be sciatic nerve pain? At least some of the back/leg pain sounds like that could be the culprit. I've had it off and on all pregnancy. Recently it's gotten really bad and is irritated by being on my feet/walking/doing lots of lifting. The only thing that helps is a heating pad on my lower back, butt cheek and leg.

For your other symptoms like PP say, talk to your dr :) good luck! Feel better.
  • the numbness went away this morning, I'm still having lots of pressure and pain in my pelvis bone whenever i try to turn/roll, or walk around making it difficult to walk, been laying/sitting all day.  Its tender feeling down there, i'm guessing this is from her moving down even more from us walking around all day. Besides the pain everything else has calmed down, been drinking lots of water and resting all day besides getting up for food/washroom.

hopefully i will be able to get some sleep tonight and see my doctor tomorrow.

thank you everyone for advice and thoughts.
