Ouch!! My butt :(

I have no idea if this is sciatic pain or something else, but while we were out for our evening walk, I took a normal step and felt this excruciating stabbing pain in my butt...kind of right at the top and just to the left of my tailbone. Pain didn't radiate down my leg. Was totally localized, but it hurt so so bad. I tried to walk it off, but occasionally when I would step, I felt the stab again.

Now that I'm back home and in bed, my left upper butt is sore from all those occasional stabs. Am I the only one? Is this sciatic pain or something else? Ugh :-<

  • I have no idea, but my tailbone really started hurting tonight.  Are you contagious? :D

  • I got that on the right side yesterday...I used a heating pad for about 10 minutes, and it made a big difference. I have no idea what caused it, but maybe heat will help you too!

  • Me too!  I had bursitis of the hip with my first and I think it has made a comeback for this pregnancy.  :/

  • That sounds like what my chiropractor calls sciatic pain, but it seems like it's constantly changing locations. Try ice...it can help take down the swelling around the nerve and give you a bit of relief. Do you see a chiropractor? I'd definitely mention it next time you're in. No one likes a sore butt ;)

  • Yep, sounds exactly like sciatic pain! I hate it when it shows up all of a sudden and that one step kills you! Sorry! Butterfly leg stretches can be really helpful in loosening the area.

  • @ADH0906‌ I don't see a chiro yet, but a close friend has one she LOVES who comes highly recommended in this area. He specifically works with pregnant women and infants/children. I just found out that my insurance covers 12 visits annually, so I think I'll make an appt! I could tell the receptionist that my butt hurts when I make the appt. Hehe

  • Sounds like how my sciatica feels. I never had it spread down my leg honestly except one time. It normally is just that stabbing butt pain. And yes I have said that to my chiropractor. lol.

Webster method? Someone on here (I actually bought it was you!) recommended a Webster Method chiro to me and it's been ah-mazing.

Might have been me! I think I've mentioned it a couple times. ;) And yes, he does specialize in Webster. I've been meaning to make an appt., but wondered if it was still too early. My butt hurts! I don't care how early it is...I'm making an appt. Lol

Pft, I've been going 3 times a week for a month now. I was jacked. If it's time, it's time!

  • I've been having that pain for a couple weeks now, and I thought it was my hip! I've see a chiropractor once a month, and I know I have a problem with my hip on one side, so I assumed it was pregnancy irritating it. Now I wonder if it's sciatica! My next chiropractor appt is on Monday, so I'll be asking.

I hope you go see a chiropractor, they are great! And hope your chiropractor can give you some answers!
