I would see how breast feeding goes first before the pumping route. You would have to pump every two hours in the beginning and then feed baby on top of that plus clean pump parts and bottles. Plus the baby is more efficient than the pump at getting the milk out so nursing would be best for your supply. If you find you don't want to breastfeed then pumping is still an option.
I did both, and for me pumping did not work as effectively as direct feeding. If I had to pump for longer than the length of a work day I would get extremely painful engorgement that pumping did not relieve, and it wouldn't go away until I fed her directly again, or sometimes not even then. I had an oversupply issue though, which might have contributed to that.

EPing (exclusively pumping) is tough bc it's double the work - pump, feed baby with bottle, clean bottle and pump parts, repeat every 2-3 hours.
Can I ask why you feel weird about BFing?
