Re: CPW - Fireworks

  • We had always been away for the 4th of July, but last year I was home and I discovered that we can see a show from our house!  So that's the plan for this year.

  • We always intend to go to the local fireworks show.  In reality, we usually end up enjoying the day time party we are at and never make it to the show.  There are some shows we can partially see from my parents house or my ILs beach house (we are usually at one or the other for the holiday) but it isn't a great view.

  • Watched the fireworks last night from my bedroom upstairs. I couldn't see the lower ones like the fountains and whatnot because of a tree RIGHT in the way, but I saw most of the bigger ones

  • I put that we go to a fireworks show because that is what we are doing this year. However, we have done other things before. We have done them ourselves, like last year. The year before that we went to SIL's house and did them there. It just depends on the year and what's going on for us at the time.

    *gasp*  who doesn't  like fireworks????
I don't. I'm really sensitive to loud noises, so I've always hated them. As a kid, I'd wear headphones and earmuffs when we'd go to watch them. Now, as an adult, I just avoid them usually.

  • We go to a show nearby.

We bring snacks, chairs and blankets and get up there about an hour before they start and hang out.  We have been doing it that way for years.  A few times we were away, but we always find them somewhere.

    *All are Welcome*

  • I can see the town fireworks from the front porch :)
  • I'm almost all the above. We will set off fireworks at my own house, then on Friday I'm going to a friend's house, she bought fireworks for us to set off and we can also see a firework show from her house. I am also going to a fireworks show on Saturday night. I love fireworks (fun fact: despite my overwhelming love of fireworks never have I ever set one off myself). Since I moved recently I can't see them from my house anymore and I most likely won't watch them on TV although my mom mentioned that this is what she is doing so I might end up doing it with her maybe...

  • SS- for the 4th we usually hang on the river at a friend's parents house where we can see locals shoot some off. But at the end of the month is the town's fest that we help put on. The last day is the fireworks along the river and we watch in the park with 10k people, then go pay the vendor for putting it on. My inlaws stake out our spot at 6am and it's a HUGE event.

I voted ss. We usually just do fireworks at home next to the rice field so nothing catches on fire ;) but this year we may go see a huge show. My SIL works for a huge sweet potato farm and they put on a good one every year.
