DD got a cold a week and half ago. She started with a little sneezing/coughing, alot of congestion. The pedi. told me there's not much I can do bc of her age, just use saline drops and the bulb syringe which we've been doing. We also have had a warm mist humidifier in her room. She got a bit better, but was still congested, but today she started coughing again, more than before and I can hear the congestion/rattling in her chest when she breathes. Is there anything else I can do to help her?
Re: Sick baby..what to do?
You might want to do a little chest PT with her in addition to the suctioning and saline. Basically just put her tummy down over your knees, cup your hands and pat her back to help loosen all that junk up. You should be able to google a more explicit technique.
Other than that just try to keep her comfy.
our pedi told us we could put vicks baby rub on his feet and then put socks on him -- it seemed to help
the chest rattling would concern me, so i would take her back to the pedi
This is what the pedi did for dc
