back pain? normal or no?

I've been having sever back pain when I lay on my back. It almost brings me to tears. I roll onto my back in my sleep and wake up cringing. Is this back pain normal at 29 weeks?

Re: back pain? normal or no?

  • Are you sleeping on the floor?? Do not sleep anywhere else except your bed and make sure the mattress is comfortable. Obviously you're carrying a baby and you have to manage the weight.

  • 30 wks here and the back pain (lower, mostly right side), is pretty intense. It isn't bad when lying down but when I'm on the floor with LO or walking a lot. I'm getting a massage today in hopes of helping put things back in place and lots of stretching at night and first thing in the morning helps!

  • If it's that bad you should ask your doctor about it. I would suggest sleeping with a body pillow behind you as well, it will keep you from ending up flat on your back and may help with the pain.
