June 2014 Moms

Birth story @katieluc106

I wasn't going to post but I'm waiting in my hospital room sans baby because the pediatricians are checking on all the babies.

Short version: June 29 Vivian Katharina joined the outside world at 3:48 and 5 days late. Weighing a whopping 9lbs 4.8oz and measuring 20 3/4 inches.

Longer version: woke up at 630 am with my first contraction. (after a tough day/ night the day before. Very emotional, in a ton of pain, nesting was OUT OF FRICKEN CONTROL)
I'd been having contractions for a few weeks off and on but I don't know how to describe it, I just knew this was it. I timed them for about an hour called everyone who needed to be called, got myself in the shower. I went to my moms to drop DD1 off so she could bring her to my grandmothers. I was in absolutely no rush to get to the hospital. DD1 was getting impatient so we left. Good thing I did because 3 hours from my first contraction i got to the hospital with 2-3 minute apart contractions I was fully effaced and 7cm.
Got set up in my room epidural was ordered and placed (and glorious).
Now it was just time to wait. The nurse had me laying on one side because there was a window on one corner of my belly. Well she had me on left side for 2 hours which eventually let the epidural on the right run out.
Was checked and told I was complete but couldn't push because she wasn't engaged and still at a -2. Pitocin was started to get her to come down.
After 2 hours I couldn't stand not having the epi on one side. We called the guy back in and he gave me some good stuff. While he was waiting to make sure it was working my dr came in to check me and she told me baby was at a 2 and it was time to push. I had asked my mom to leave the room as I was getting checked so when they pulled me down and told me to push I freaked on the nurse and told her to go get my mother. I pushed through three contractions not feeling a single thing because of the "extra" epi I was given. And she slid right out, Only leaving me needing 1 stitch. DD1 I needed 6 and she was smaller!!
We are both doing fabulous (super anxious to leave). DD1 is absolutely in love with her sister and it's the best feeling ever.
To my over due mommies..... Nothing I can say will help what you're going through, it sucks. But I do promise you it's going to be over. You won't even care about the pain of the waiting once it is over. We have worked so hard over these last 10 months for these babies....it's almost over!

Squish pics! I had to share a foot picture because her big toe is just so funny... It looks like a thumb.
