Pregnant after 35

Heartburn is no fun

I am pregnant with my first baby.. 26 weeks along and Heartburn has really set it.. Noting seems to help.   I feel like I should buy stock in tums I eat so many.. Does anyone have any good advice on how to cure this..

Re: Heartburn is no fun

  • Eat smaller meals, drink lots of water and avoid spicy food.

Other than that, I've been popping Tums as well.

  • Had indigestion for the first time ever...and never before with any of my previous pregnancies. It was rough. Hoping this means I finally get my boy.

I had such awful heartburn with my daughter. I kept Tums everywhere, for starters. Eat often and avoid anything acidic. (No juice for sure.). Drink a half cup of Aloe juice (I liked George's tasteless, cold it's like water) morning, night and anytime in between. A glass of milk also soothed the burning when I was out.

Tums don't do a thing for me. A big glass of cold milk is all that works. I make sure to drink one before I go to bed each night and also throughout the day when I feel it coming on.
  • The nausea and vomiting was causing severe acid so dr prescribed Zantac 150 for me...such sweet relief:)

  • I agree with milk and zantac either 75 or 150. Dr. says it's fine. However, you can only take it 2x per day and it doesn't keep up with my heartburn. The other natural remedies that have been working for me are: DigestZen oil from doTerra (buy on amazon) and lemon oil or lemon wedges  - both of these just go in your water. the DigestZen taste like Anise or Black Licorice so you have to be able to drink that. I have a friend who puts it in a capsule and swears by it.

Good Luck... I am suffering too. :)
