Hello everybody!
I am a newbie to The Bump (as well as trying to get pregnant!). I've been diagnosed with PCOS and within the past year I've been taking Provera to bring on a period. My husband and I have decided we are ready to start trying for a family, so this was our first month giving it a go. I took Provera, got my period, then took Clomid on days 5-9. Day 11, I was supposed to be ovulating and instead I got my period (which really threw me for a loop). I know this is our first month, really our first week trying, but I just don't know what is normal and how this process is supposed to go. Of course my doctor is out of the office until Monday, so I am going blind into this at the moment. I really appreciate anybody who is willing to share their story about taking Provera/Clomid, since I am really so new to this process and unsure the road ahead of me. Thank you so so much!!

Re: Newbie trying to get pregnant with PCOS
Have you and your husband been through standard fertility testing to make sure there aren't any other issues at play than your PCOS? If not, I'd see a RE for all the standard tests before taking a medication like Clomid.
The TTGP blog has a page all about Clomid: https://tbttgp.wordpress.com/taking-clomid/

There is so much I don't know about this process...and I'm slowly realizing how much my OBGYN hasn't prepared me for.
I was put on birth control pills at 15 years old since I had cysts on my ovaries. The pill kept the cysts away. At 25 years old, I told my OBGYN I no longer wanted to be on the pill because I didn't want to be on them for this long. Ever since I've been off the pill (about a year and a half now), I've never gotten a period on my own. I got a blood test, which my OBGYN then concluded I have PCOS.
I'm going to do some research and find an RE, which seems to be the best and smartest route for me to take.
^ ditto!!
I made an appointment with an RE on the 14th, so I will hopefully get more answers then. Until then, no Clomid from my OBGYN!!
