So I don't remember at all about how this goes, so I thought I'd ask. My DD is about 6 weeks. What happens to my period? Meaning, when did yours come back? Was it better/worse than pre-baby? Thanks
Well, my understanding is that it really varies for different people. For example, I know for some it doesn't come back for a year.... and if you are exclusively breastfeeding that is supposed to lengthen the amount of time you don't get it. For me, however....came back at 10 weeks. I was bummed. It was about the same for me as pre-baby. Oh, and I heard it can be pretty irregular for awhile, too (again, I'm assuming if you're nursing, even more so).
It varies for every woman. Expect it to be irregular at first when it does come back. I was looking forward to a year + of no period because of breastfeeding and got it before DS was 6 months old. Total bummer.
I got mine at exactly 6 weeks pp. I nursed for a week and then pumped for a week. When I my period I had cramping for a few days but my period was lighter than usual and only lasted 4ish days. I also started back up with the pill the day I got my period so...
My period came back last month (had my son in April), and then I didn't get it this month. I'm pumping as well, but more so than I was for the month of June.
I am exclusively breast feeding and got mine at 4 1/2 weeks. I was looking forward to it being delayed since I was breast feeding but that wasn't the case for me. I have pretty bad periods especially when not regulated by birth control so I have to say it was pretty horrible. Along with the fact that I had not been cleared yet to wear tampons, so I was stuck wearing bug bulky pads again was awful! Hopefully you all have a better experience. I have always had bad lengthy periods so I didn't expect any less I guess.
