I feel like I should, but it's so much easier to buy...so I've been making some when I can. If you buy...what kind do you buy. Extra points for sharing fav recipes for all you baby food makers!
I voted f off but only because you didn't post a SS option. . I am mostly just giving her whole foods but we did try some pear purées yesterday and she liked them.
I'm still trying a lot of fruits and veggies on their own. The one thing I mixed so far was butternut squash and broccoli. She loved the squash on its own but wasn't a fan of broccoli mixed in.
I make a bunch at once and freeze in ice cube trays so I have some ready to go whenever. Or I give her bits of food in a mesh feeder and she goes to town on her own.
I had grand plans of making all of his food. But this mama has no time for that business. I buy him Gerber and my mil gives gim both Gerber and beechnut I think is the brand.
I made my own with my first baby, I don't have time with the twins. I usually buy plum organics, or Ella's kitchen.
This is me too. I made all ds1s food, ds2 wouldn't eat any food until we gave him our stuff at 10 mo and let him feed himself, and this time around I just don't have the time or energy. I feel like I spend all day in my kitchen as it is. So to make myself feel less guilty I buy all organic & not from concentrate I will however make some turkey or chicken to start mixing in with some of his purées. I can't stand the thought of jarred meat, even if it is organic.
I make all my own so far. Simple veggie steamer that I just steam until soft, toss it in my ninja (food processor) and if necessary thin with bm. I too freeze in ice cube trays if I'm not going to use right away. She also has had some whole foods at thus point too. I guess I'm doing a combo of purees and blw. I don't feel like it takes that much time to do and it is so much cheaper than jars or pouches.

My LO loved the mesh feeders too. Is there an easy way to clean them though? Maybe I shouldn't have thrown away the packaging so soon because I can't get the mesh out of the plastic and it's super hard to clean with it all assembled.
I've made some single foods and frozen them in ice trays, but also bought organic singles and mixes in jars and pouches. I find the mess of feeding DS way more time consuming than any food prep lol.
Yeah BLW for us so we don't have to worry about it...I was given a baby food maker thingie though which is so easy IF you wanted to puree stuff. I use it just to steam her veggies at the moment (we are still introducing stuff) but after it steams I could hit puree and bam, baby food. It's pretty effing easy. One machine to do it all.
All of it. Some ladies at church gave me some jars, I make some, give him real food, and have some Plum Organic and Ella's Kitchen pouches for when we're out.
I made and froze all DS1's food, but can't seem to find the time to do it all ahead this time.
I make because it's so much cheaper. And shelf meat skeeves me out. Also, shelf yogurt! WTF is that not refrigerated???
Speaking of meat, how do you puree meat? That might be a really dumb question, but I make my own fruit and veggie purees, but have no clue how to prepare, puree, and freeze the meats. I've only given DD some jarred baby food that has meat in it.
I buy ground lamb or ground turkey, cook it in a skillet, use my immersion blender to purée it, adding a little water. It's disgusting watching meat run through the blender!

Sure! I don't have a food processor, so I use the immersion blender for everything.

@SusanC111, I have a regular food processor with the puree setting. Do you think that will work?
Eta my response was gobbled up inside the quote box. iPad won't let me fix it but I said sure! I think that should work.

Also, I buy Gerber baby food because I have no idea how people have time to make it.

I buy earth's best organic jars and plum organic pouches. I mix a little BM in the pouches still since it seems to be pretty thick still.
