My dilemma

So here's my issue, I can't decide whether I want my first drink post baby to be a beer or a glass of wine. There are positives to both, the beer (Moosehead is my favorite), and would certainly be refreshing, but a nice Sauvignon blanc in an extra large wine glass would be fantastic. Anyone else have their drink picked out or is it just me who is fantasizing about it?

I had a friend lined up to bring me a cold beer (an Octoberfest) AT the hospital after I had DS... I was so stinkin' excited to enjoy a cold beer with absolutely no guilt. However, my taste buds went completely wonky after delivery and I couldn't even think about drinking anything for several weeks. When I did try a sip of beer for my bday a week later I couldn't drink it! I eventually got over it, and although my tolerance never returned (I would seriously feel tipsy after 2 beers!) I was finally able to enjoy a drink a while later. It was kind of a let down that my wacky hormones/taste buds totally foiled my plans though!

I am going to have a margarita from my favorite restaurant. They squeeze all of the limes fresh. I go there now.... Am actually going in a hour.... And make my DH get them just so I can smell them!

Why dark beer? What's the reason behind it helping with breastfeeding vs other types?

Dark beer has more of something in it than light beer. I forgot what exact ingredient it is that is supposed to help.

I found last time that a few ounces was enough to help me relax a little and not stress. That also helped.

The current plan is to bring a bottle of red wine on case of afternoon/evening delivery, and champagne for mimosas in case of morning delivery.

I want a Hardywood Single. It's a relatively new local brewery whom I had just discovered RIGHT before I got pregnant. I will be heading to the tasting room and sample everything twice.

I missed my wine so much at first, then I got over it. Now that it's nice out I want ALL the drinks. I don't even care what!

I will most likely indulge in a nice glass of white. My brother just brought me back some from Italy and I can't wait to crack it open to celebrate! So close, yet so far away ladies!

Red zinfandel is my fave. Never been a beer or white wine fan and haven't felt like sweet drinks since before DD was born.

Something blended and fruty. I've been craving a piña colada for a few weeks now! We went out for Mexican food last night and the servers kept walking by with huge colorful glasses filed with margaritas and such. I wanted one so bad!

A mimosa with a splash of cherry would be amazing for the morning after delivery though!

We're bringing the bottle of Guinness that I brought back from my mom/daughter trip to Ireland last year. I've been saving it to celebrate my lil lad

hopefully it's still good and they don't mind us cheers'ing in the hospital.

OMG OMG! Mojito! My Fave! However I have been majorly craving a blue margarita, or sangria, or hard cider too! I sound like a boozer, I'm not actually! I never craved any alcohol or missed it the first time pregnant but this time has been hard. My 30th Birthday is August 28th so mojito is a must. Girl baby will be anywhere from a month old (due August 2nd- I never could figure out the tracker thing) to a few weeks old if she's late I suppose. I wont feel guilty though. One birthday drink is a must
