We are painting the nursery this weekend. We are doing 3 walls cream, with one wall that the crib will be on, navy blue. The trim well be red. We are doing a nautical theme. All of that is basically set in stone.
What I need help with is the furniture I have is all unfinished except the crib which is dark cherry. Should I (DH) stain the furniture to match the crib or go with something a little different and do it red to match the trim. I have a small dresser/changing table, a glider, and a night stand. I really think the glider is going to be red with blue and white cushions but I'm not sure about the dresser and night stand.
I don't want it to be too much red.
The room is large and very bright. Sometimes I think the light is on in the day time when it's just the sun.
Anyone who has a good eye for these things help!!

Thanks in advance!
Re: Decorating Help!! (sorry, long)
Red furniture would be cool, but perhaps a pain to change when DS gets older and wants to personalize his room? It depends, I guess, on the destiny of the furniture. Will this be his in his room forever (minus changing table, of course), or will it be used for future babies? Do you want the furniture to grow with him?
I might rather stain it or paint it white/cream so that you don't end up having to strip and repaint or stain it in the future, and then I would add some red accessories around the room. Maybe paint an oar red to hang on the wall, or spray paint a lamp red for the dresser. Laundry hamper could be red too...or why not spray paint the diaper genie red? :P
