HI everyone. I have been lurking around here for the last few weeks and decided to finally introduce myself. Here's the short of it.

Married DH in Sept 2008, with the thought that we would never have kids. We were young, carefree, and selfish as hell.Over the past 6 years we have built our careers, bought a home, traveled, and enjoyed ourselves to the fullest!

April 2014, my 30th birthday rolls around and I am hit with baby fever, HARD! I went of BC for the first time in 15 years and here we are.

I have a lot of anxiety and insecurities about all this. I never thought I wanted to be a mom until recently. This is all very new to me and I am so nervous about how this will change the relationship between HH and I. But I do know I would regret it more if we didn't try!

    Welcome!! Be sure to check out the newbie blog at the top if you haven't got to yet, it is filled with a ton of info and hopefully will help ease some of your worries. My hubby and I were the same way with saying we never wanted children and wanted it to just be us two, and we changed our mind as well funny how we get older our wants change : D Hope your stay is short and sweet best of luck with everything!!

    Welcome! We have very similar stories! We chose to be child free for twelve years, but then that bio clock really started ticking. Having DD is best thing we EVER could have done. Now we are TFAS.

    Welcome!  We also waited.  We were married 7 years before DD came along.  Then we thought we were OAD and now here we are TFAS.  I was 29 when we decided to start trying and 31 when DD was born.  It's nice to have some time to get to know yourselves as a couple before adding a rugrat to the mix :)  Good luck!

    Welcome!  We were child free by choice for 9 years. Then we decided now or never - and now TFAS.  We wouldn't change anything!

    @allelsefails I know this wasn't directed at me but the op's fear has been one of mine too. Thanks for the suggestion I added it to my wishlist on Amazon for whenever I get my BFP!!

    DNA Results (7/1): DH is NOT a carrier for my genetic disorder! 
    7/3: Metabolic clinic gave the green light to TTC - holy crap!

    **Loss 3-Cycle 14 (January-February 2014)-M/C dx 2/10, EP dx 2/24, MTX 2/25**
    Beta Hell--hCG finally down to 0 - 6/20/14
    SA normal. Genetic testing normal. Hormonal testing normal.
    HSG 6/30/14 - found blocked left tube and 2 'bubbles' on uterine wall.
    Hysteroscopy/Lap--8/4/14 - Tubes unblocked. Polyps removed from uterine wall. Septum removed.
     9/30/14--Off the bench! Unmedicated TI through December 2014
    BFP 12/14/14!!! Beta #1, 12/16: 990 Beta #2, 12/18: Over 2000! Beta #3, 12/22: over 8000!
     U/S #1, 12/23: gestational sac, possible heartbeat
    U/S #2, 12/30: HEARTBEAT! 128bpm, measuring right on at 7w EDD: 8/19/2015
    U/S #3, 1/9: BPM in the 180s, IT'S HAPPENING!!!

    Son: Jackson, 11/02/06, stillborn due to PPROM and IUGR. Over the next ten years we had 9 miscarriages from 8-14 weeks. On May 18, 2016 my daughter, Ridley, was born. We're OADNBC.

    Welcome to the board! I was also under the impression I would be selfish and child-free for the rest of my life. Something happened once I hit 30, and now here we are. I will say that being on BCPs for half my life really messed with my fertility. I hope your TTC journey is smooth sailing. Good luck!

    FET#1 Dec 2014 - Lupron/Estrace(transdermal and vaginal)/Viagra/G-CSF wash - Cancelled due to poor lining response

    Welcome! We were child free by choice for 5 years. We weren't sure if we ever wanted children. Of course, after 20 months, we're still trying for #1. I was 28 when baby fever hit our house.

    Welcome! DH and I have been married for 8 years and starting ttc in Feb. Even though its taking longer than I would have wished, I wouldn't change a thing about the time we spent together!

    Together since April 2004.  Married since June 19th, 2010.
     BFP #1: January 31st 2012: CP. 
     BFP #2: June 1st 2012, Due:2/8/13. Avery was born via unplanned c section on 2/13/13. 
     BFP #3: Sept. 25th, 2014. Due: 6/5/15.  MMC on 10/23/14. Confirmed complete molar pregnancy per D&C 10/29/14, 
    HCG officially negative 12/10/14.  Benched until June 2015.

    I agree 100%. I didn't mean to imply that all CF couples are selfish, just speaking from my own marriage. :) trust me, we were selfish, and still have our moments!!

    Obviously I don't speak for all childless couples, but I felt I was selfish for many years when I would choose to spend my money on material possessions instead of planning for a family. That's just me though. I liked my life then, and I like my life now that we are TTC. It's just been a change.
