XP: Extra long footie pjs w/ hand mitts for 5 week old?

Hi Moms! Anyone have any idea where I can find footie pajamas with hand mitts, that are extra long? I have a hard time finding non - newborn - sized PJs with the hand mitts attached at all. Last week I found and bought several pairs from Old Navy size 0-3 months but Emily's legs are so long that her feet are already at the very edge of the PJs! She is 10 lbs ad 22 inches long. Any ideas?? Thanks!!

  • Old Navy sells them. I got a pair of size 6 months that had the hand mitts :)

  • Cut off the feet! Haha! We have done this with several of our baby's pjs, even for a couple of the 0-3month sizes. She is also 22in long but has long legs. Actually, she is wearing one of those altered pjs right now.

  • Faded Glory footed pj's from Walmart are long but don't have mittens. The only extra-long pj's I can think of with mittens are the elastic-bottom gowns from brands like Gerber and Carters. They're still super long on DD and she's over 23 inches.

  • @noice247 - Thanks! The ones I have now are from Old Navy size 0-3 mos. But I think 6 mos will be waaaay too loose on her.

@jmcdyer‌ - It's funny bc my MIL suggested the same thing!

@jenb_99‌ - those gowns are really long; agreed! I have a couple. The issue with those for me though is that DD sleeps in a RnP and I have a hard time buckling her in with the gowns on.

  • Carter's. I don't know how long he is but my 8 week old is still wearing the NB size in their zip up pajamas. He was 20" at birth so I imagine he's probably at 22 or 23 now.
  • How about a gown with leggings underneath so that you can strap her in and keep her warm?

  • @giggler25‌ I only just realized your first post you said you bought your stuff at Old Navy. And here I thought I was being helpful! Lol :) My son is really long too but the 6 months would definitely be too big. I was just stocking up for the future and liked that they still had mitts on the bigger size. I have put my son in shirts with mitts and then put him in 2 piece outfits, baby bags or the rare footed pjs that still fit and just had the shirt underneath so he still had the mitts.
  • Why not buy separate mits? Then you can use any pjs you want.

  • Or my question is are the mitts really needed? Cut their nails?
  • Ah. I have never strapped either of my kids into the RNP so I didn't consider that as an issue. Hmm.

:-O whaaaaaaat!? You don't strap your kids in?!

Seriously. They need to invent one.

I cut and/or file her nails almost every day, but they grow so fast and they're so sharp so she still ends up cutting her little face up.  :(
  • Thanks for all the advice ladies!

    Lol. Call the mom police!

I do use the straps on just about everything else. Just not the RNP or Mamaroo. Hulk Baby DS couldn't get himself out of the RNP even at 6 months so I figure a floppy newborn is pretty safe. :D

  • @aimee223 - thanks for the info! FTM here so welcome all info and advice. :)

@jenb_99 - my LO loves to plank her body which is why I keep her strapped in.
  • We had to cut the footies to her PJs tonight.m! She looks like a little hobo baby- lol!!
