February 2015 Moms

wow wow wow wow...

I came home after work today with the understanding between DH and I that dinner would be done because he knows how hungry I have been.

Well, he hadn't even started it. what's the first thing I do??

yell "YOU HAVENT EVEN STARTED IT YET?!" At which point I dramatically butter a random piece of bread and shove it into my mouth out of desperation for food and literally......literally......sob.

I was sobbing while shoving a piece of bread in my mouth......Hows THAT for emotional?
Ugh

  • I'm laughing and crying at the same time... Tonight on my way home from work, I called my husband and asked what he was doing. He was DRIVING home from the grocery store. "What do you mean driving home....? I want tacos, I want them when I get home!" I get home pouting because my tacos weren't done--- after 5 minutes of being at home I said "I don't want tacos... I want a hamburger!" Those were some good hamburgers.... Poor husband!

  • I almost cut my husband when I got home from work yesterday and he had eaten the rest of the potato salad that was in the fridge. There is now a "what will my pregnant wife think if I eat the rest of this" rule.
  • Omg this thread was amazing! Haha :) it happens to the best of us!
  • =)) I'm dying here! This is by far the funniest thread we have going!

@2013JEM @lizzybean It seems mac and cheese is THE meltdown-worthy food. I had a meltdown when the leftover mac and cheese didn't taste as good as it did the day before. This is not a new thing--leftover mac and cheese is usually never as good as the first time around--but to me it was the end of the world because in that moment I didn't believe there was anything else I could eat! DH had to kneel down next to me at the dinner table, calm me down, bring me tissues, and remind me that there was lots of other food I liked in the fridge.

  • This is wonderful!  Thank you for sharing.  I threw a fit over DH eating the last piece of cheese a couple weeks ago when a grilled cheese sandwich was all I wanted in the world.  And yesterday I had tears in my eyes because the salad that I was eating was so perfect that I couldn't control myself.  I'm already emotional without being pregnant so I know the BSC moments are coming for me...I wonder if DH has started preparing himself...
  • I love this thread.
I have a couple of problems when it comes to food, one being that I'll go from not hungry to STARVING AND I NEED TO EAT RIGHT NOW in a matter of a couple of minutes, and the other issue is that something sounds appetizing, but by the time it's made, it doesn't sound good anymore and I want something else to eat.

This thread is making my night.  I am making DH read all of these so he knows how good he has it!

When I was pregnant with DD#1 I got an intense craving for veggie pizza.  I called DH and he agreed to go grab one on his way home from work.  Well he got home and had a cheese pizza and I lost it, started sobbing, and pouted.  He felt so bad that he sauteed a bunch of veggies to put on top but then I smelled them and got sick.  He covered the pizza in veggies and handed me some, and I promptly picked them all off.

I have my first official pregnant hormones story.

Husband and I were doing laundry, and the dryer buzzed. He was playing a game on the computer (totally normal, we're both big gamers) and I told him laundry was ready. When I looked at his screen it looked like he wasn't in the middle of a match so I figured he'd get up and come fold his stuff right away. I'm in the bedroom taking care of my stuff, getting slowly grouchier and grouchier that he hasn't come into the room. After I finish and I'm leaving the bedroom, he's heading towards the bedroom. I pass him, deciding not to say anything, but then I turn around and I snap, "What took you so long?"

    "I had a match."

"You were not in a match when I told you."

    "Babe it had just started."

Angry noises, storm off to my own computer in our computer room while he's tending to his clothes. He comes into the room a few minutes later, comes up behind me and touches my shoulder, asking in the sweetest voice if I'm okay. I know I was overreacting because of my hormones, and he was still being so nice, I immediately start crying! "This is so stupid, I'm being so stupid," I keep saying. He's laughing, then I'm laughing, cuz he seems to think it's adorable. "You had your first crazy mood swing, you're definitely pregnant! It just makes me happy!" And then he teared up a bit, which was the first time I really saw him really emotionally react to the pregnancy. He's a really level, not emotional guy and I knew he was happy about the baby but it was the first time he really reacted that way. All it took was me being completely crazy for a few minutes! :))
    That's hilarious AND adorable!

  • Oh man I love this thread and I'm partially jealous of this thread! Other than having some bloat, sore boobs, hunger and major fatigue I haven't really had the stuff most of you talk about. Makes me feel like I'm not really pregnant and getting that BFP was a dream.

I had read an article a week or so ago and thought you ladies might get a chuckle.

Lol anytime! My friend sent it to me and I laughed. I just haven't really experienced any of those besides the "I'm hungry - feed me now!" moments.
  • When I was pregnant with DD I craved sweet and sour sauce from mcdonalds. Every time I ordered it they forgot to put it in the bag which lead to many meltdowns hahahah
  • @wintersong139‌ we are also on a house marathon via netflix in this house. I've cried through lots of them!

  • DH and I are living at my parents while we are buying a house and usually on Friday nights my parents order from the sub shop. I wanted plain chicken fingers. They ordered their food plus buffalo chicken fingers for them and plain for me. Well when the food arrived I couldn't eat and they all ate their dinner but not my chicken fingers. The next day DH and my mom were eating leftovers for lunch and I thought oh yeah I'm going to eat my chicken fingers! As soon as I'm done doing what I'm doing. So I walk into the kitchen search the fridge.. no chicken fingers. I walk into the living room yelling that they all ate my chicken then sat in the chair and sobbed literally sobbed because all I wanted was those chicken fingers... Then 5 min later taco bell was an excellent substitute and DH drove me instantly. Lol oiy. I also had a meltdown over not getting a back rub the other night... It happens :((

This thread is making me feel SO much better.  I'm not alone!  haha.  My poor husband is so patient...so far today I have had meltdowns over car insurance, my job, and the fact that I couldn't eat anything but a chicken biscuit for breakfast (bc obviously this means I'm going to turn into a whale). Husband says, "it's okay, it's not your fault.  it's all these hormones, you'll feel like yourself again soon."  And of course I start bawling and ask if he thinks I'm fat.

Complete trainwreck.  And I KNOW I'm being crazy in the moment but I can't stop it.

  • These stories are hilarious! I've had this odd odor in my new car and it makes me feel sick everyday. I keep cleaning it and it won't go away. I started crying the other night to H telling him I hate the stupid car and I don't want it anymore- basically having a hissy fit. Well come to find out I had left cold cuts in the trunk last time I went to the grocery store and they have now been sitting in the heat making the smell. Woops- my bad.
  • I am right there with you. While visiting my parents I sat in bed crying and eating half a chocolate Easter bunny because I was starving and couldn't sleep. I've also cried over realizing I would have to wear actual pants the next day (like actually sobbed) and every time I stub my toe which is a lot lately (I think the hormones are making me clumsy).
