I go to a large ob practice with lots of drs. I will be having a RCS and I decided which dr I wanted to deliver. They don't have their hospital schedule yet and I have been seeing the nurse practitioner as she has more convenient appt times so I haven't talked to the dr since my first appt about my RCS. Well, I just talked to the dr and she is on vacation the week before I'm due which means the soonest she could deliver me is two days before my due date if that is one of her hospital days. I haven't gone into labor with my other two kids and had to be induced but I am afraid I will go into labor this time since I will have a scheduled CS (that's just my luck). What would you do? Would you schedule with another dr? Narrow down to two and see who can deliver when it gets closer? Would you stick with this dr and hope everything goes as scheduled?
Re: What would you do?
As you know with pregnancy and children in general, its rare when everything goes as scheduled!
I'd go more with the date you want than the person you want, especially if it's going to stress you out to wait. And then remember baby could totally mess up your plans either way.
I agree with @persephonerose, choose your top three. That's what I'm going to do as well. My OB office is gung ho about scheduling the RCS at pretty much exactly 39w. They try to accommodate doc choices, but with a small window of time it makes it difficult.

This seems strange to me. I could understand this more if it was a vaginal birth, you take your chances with who you get when you go into labor. But for someone cutting me open I would want to know and see that person before hand.
It seems like you really have no options. The doctor that you want, who is going on vacation, will she agree to letting you go past 39 weeks so you can schedule with her? (My OB wont for RCS) Honestly even that sounds like a crap shoot, because if she isn't schedule for a hospital day then you are screwed and will end up with whoever they have anyway.
