Re: Let's Talk Swaddlers
He would always roll over unto his side and that made me nervous so I let him sleep on his side with his arms free for stability. I could have swaddled him arms out I guess, but I just didn't. Worked for us, was nice not having to break him of the swaddle later on.
So on this subject I'm like a FTM. I'm planning on trying the Swaddle Me because they look simple. I did fold a regular swaddle blanket into a swaddle with DS before ditching the whole idea and I *think* I'd prefer something simpler this time.
ETA: Or if you really want to get some rest you can swaddle your LO and your DH.
"What did my fingers do before they held you? What did my heart do with it's love?"
We swaddled until they were done, no breaking of swaddle needed. We used those large blankets for everything. Carseat shade, swaddling, playmat on the floor, nursing cover etc. and they are nice and lightweight as well. Versatile and cheap, long lasting. Swaddling is an easy and valuable skill to learn and the nurses are there to show you how! In that sense if you aren't into making them A&a will accomplish the same thing.
I have no experience with the large variety of swaddle items, didn't even know they existed really
baby #3 arrived in September 2014...cannot get ticker to work no matter what I try!

I love this.
My DH, after a few drinks the other night, tried to swaddle the cat. It did not go over well.
I tried the Woombie once but it looked like a straight up straight jacket and kind of freaked me out. I might give it another go this time though.

I do recommend getting the A+A swaddles, though, because they make fabulous multipurpose blankets. They're lightweight and a lot bigger than regular receiving blankets. We used them all the time.

This is for all the caterpillars that never became butterflies. And for all the butterflies that never felt the wind in their wings. And for all the hearts that had hopes and dreams of a wondrous flight together.
She is cuuuuuuuute!
I was starting to lean toward the woombie with the hip safety things already brought up by other PPs, but you have definitely tipped the scales with that cuteness!
Also...for clarity, I am a FTM. I have experience from working in an infant/toddler classroom. I realized after I typed the first part that I sounded like I had a shower after knowing what swaddlers I liked the functionality of (potentially a STM+). Lol.
