I have three contenders, and want to see yours! I'm gotta' be honest, I don't care about functionality for this. I just want it to be cute for pics and have a little fun for a couple of hours during the departure.

Omg.. The owl hat and boots is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen.
We have 3 options depending on her size and the weather. The first is a little gray and pink knit dress set i have some gray socks to go with it but pulled out the black ones so you get the idea. Second is a newborn cutie outfit. Third is the largest and is a good "functional" outfit (FI chose it *shrug*)
@bekahblaze I love it! One of my contenders is something very similar, has flamingos on it. Flamingos on baby clothes has got to be one of the funniest things ever! It really cracks me up, so so cute.

I love that little tutu skirt with the socks!!! Where did you get that?
@jamielcall we got the bodysuit and skirt at babies r us(i haven't seen them lately though, I think they were made by carters), the socks we found at Meijer on clearance.
Just a cute hand-me-down sleeper (or onesie if super hot) from her sisters. I don't personally see the need for anything fancy just to come home from the hospital. I'm impressed that you all have outfits chosen already. I probably won't even pull my baby clothes out of the attic for another month or so
It's pretty hard to see here, but this an heirloom gown that several generations of my family (mom's side) have worn home. No pumpkin hat in August though!
We were so over the hospital last time that I really didn't get good going home outfit pictures. Hopefully this time!
The yellow is NB, the red is 0-3, so depending on how big baby is, these are my choices! (Haven't ironed the yellow yet and it for super wrinkled in the wash)
Stupid question alert - do newborns born in August need hats in the hospital? Or outside? It's one thing to lose body heat through your head with cold weather babies, but I'm guessing my August baby will not leave the hospital with a hat on? I feel like an idiot for even asking this.

I feel like if it's air conditioned they'll use a hat, but I'm totally guessing since I'm a FTM. We don't have AC at home so I don't plan to use hats.

I know the "rule" is dress LO like yourself plus one later like a blanket but I just wasn't sure about hats. I have a terry cloth hat NB hat that came with an outfit and bigger ones from DS (I grow giant headed babies) so I should probably stick one or two in the hospital bag.

I've always done hats in the a/c. But the ac went out in our cat this year, so I want planning on using one on the way home. I'll just slip it on her when we get home.
@flip_flops the nurse who taught our last class said they will put a hat on LO in the hospital because they are still regulating in those first few days. She said it's not necessary after that. Our outfit came with a hat that says his name, so I'm just going to use it while in the hospital since he surely won't need it in the Florida heat!
I'm struggling to find a going home outfit for our little man :-( and I'm getting discouraged! I have a NB one picked out in case he is bigger than i anticipate.. But a preemie one is in need! I have a feeling he will need preemie for the first few days.
Well went to target today and there are a few! My husband and I are huge car nuts so we are naming our son Aston and I found this outfit today! I think it may be the one :-)

I ordered this from Etsy. The gown is convertible, so it can button up into pant legs...

Sorry it's sideways, it doesn't usually do that.
